Job summary

Bal Raksha Bharat in Delhi seeks an Assistant-PIU (Facilitator-Community Mobilisation) to mobilize children, parents and community stakeholders for participation in urban and community activities, focusing on children aged 3–14 and supporting centre operations.

The role reports to the Assistant Manager-PIU and requires 3–4 years NGO experience, a graduate in social work, and strong community outreach, coordination with schools, anganwadis and health facilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate in social work or related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum 3-4 years of NGO sector experience with at least 1 year working with AWCs/ School/ Community/ Government Stakeholders.
• Strong community mobilization and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify vulnerable children aged 3-14 years and enroll them in the Urban Centre.
• Ensure child safety during travel to/from the centre.
• Implement planned activities and community engagements as per plan.
• Mobilize and facilitate stakeholder engagements during planning and development meetings.
• Coordinate with schools, anganwadis, health facilities and other community institutions.
• Identify local partners and facilitate partnerships for planned activities.
• Support collection and documentation of impact and success stories (monthly/quarterly/annual).
• Submit monthly progress reports to the Assistant Manager and achieve mobilization targets.

ROLE PURPOSE

Facilitator-Community Mobilisation will be responsible for mobilizing children, parents, caregivers, community members and other stakeholders to ensure effective participation in the activities at Urban centre and community level. The role will focus on community outreach, awareness. S/he will identify and support in children aged 3 to 14 years and support in managing the centre including supporting children to use materials provided. S/he will also be responsible to maintain cordial relationship with external stakeholders at community level along with like schools, anganwadis, health facility/UPHC, parents community leaders. Also acts as Bal Raksha Bharat s advocacy representative in the intervention location to a broad range of external stakeholders including relevant government departments on issues related quality early childhood and primary education.

Scope: The person will be responsible for mobilization of project stakeholder including children, community people and other relevant stakeholders and conducting planned activities

Role Dimensions

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

• - Identification of vulnerable children (aged 3-14 years) and adolescents and their enrolment in the Urban Centre.
• - Ensure the safety of children while they are coming to centre and going back to home.
• - Ensure implementation of planned activities and community level engagements as per plan
• - Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops.
• - Coordination with the stakeholders of community institutions-school, AWC, health facility
• - Identify local level partners, support and facilitate the partnership in the implementation of planned activities.
• - Support the collection and documentation of impact and success stories on monthly, quarterly and annually.
• - Follow-up on commitments by local leaders other stakeholders on improvement of the wellbeing of children.
• - Facilitate community level events, campaigns, meetings and awareness sessions, SPS camps, health camps
• - Follow up with anganwadis and schools to monitor the retention of children after mainstreaming
• - Support convergence with government programmes and community institutions
• - Formation and strengthening of community groups-CLCWPC, children group, mothers group, parents/caregiver group etc.
• - S/he would support in document periodic progress, case studies of best practices etc of her assigned area and share with the line manager.
• - Support in collection and submission of all MIS related information and data
• - Submit monthly progress report to the Assistant Manager.
• - Responsible to achieve the desired mobilization target
• - Any other task assigned by the line manager

Level 1: The role holder will not have contact with children and/or young people, or access to personal data about children or young people, as part of their work; therefore a police check will not be mandatory unless the content or location of the role changes, in which case the Child Safeguarding level will be reviewed.

Level 2: Either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a regulated position (Finance, Monitoring Evaluation, Legal etc.); therefore a police check will be required.

Level 3: The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in programs; or are visiting programs; therefore a police check will be required.
