About the opportunity

Layam Group is looking for a highly energetic and execution-oriented Assistant Manager Manufacturing Bulk Hiring & Plant Mobilisation to support large-scale manpower requirements for manufacturing clients across India.

This is not a general corporate talent acquisition position. We are specifically looking for someone with hands‑on experience recruiting and mobilizing large numbers of candidates for manufacturing plants across sectors such as automotive, Auto Components, EMS/Electronics, Engineering, EV, Tyres, Consumer Durables, and Industrial Manufacturing.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager and National Recruitment Head and will be responsible for converting manpower requirements into actual candidate joining and deployment.

Layam operates across multiple industrial sectors and geographies and supports structured multi‑location recruitment programmes.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Execute bulk, volume and mass recruitment for manufacturing plants.
  • Manage hiring requirements for ITI, Diploma, Apprentices, NAPS/NATS candidates, Operators, Technicians, Production Associates, Assembly manpower, Quality Inspectors, Maintenance Technicians, Warehouse and Material Handling manpower.
  • Translate client manpower demand into daily, weekly and monthly recruitment plans.
  • Manage and guide a team of recruiters / sourcing executives / mobilisation executives.
  • Allocate requirements to recruiters and monitor individual productivity.
  • Conduct daily pipeline reviews covering sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection and joining.
  • Personally intervene in difficult or urgent recruitment requirements.
  • Build candidate pipelines around major industrial clusters.
  • Develop relationships with ITIs, Polytechnics, colleges, training institutions and skill‑development centres.
  • Organise and execute campus drives, walk‑ins, mega recruitment drives and job fairs.
  • Build local and regional recruitment‑vendor networks.
  • Develop rural and district‑level candidate mobilisation channels.
  • Work with referral partners, community networks, social media, WhatsApp campaigns, job portals and database sourcing.
  • Maintain active talent pools for recurring plant requirements.
  • Coordinate interview schedules with clients and internal teams.
  • Follow selected candidates continuously until actual joining.
  • Reduce candidate no‑shows, dropouts and joining failures.
  • Maintain client‑wise and recruiter‑wise recruitment MIS.
  • Track sourcing‑to‑selection and selection‑to‑joining conversion.
  • Identify weak sourcing channels and develop alternatives.
  • Support new plant ramp‑ups and urgent high‑volume hiring programmes.
  • Coordinate with regional offices and branch teams for PAN‑India requirements.
  • Support recruitment vendors and monitor their productivity.
  • Conduct market mapping for candidate availability, wages, competition and location challenges.
  • Escalate manpower risks before they become client delivery failures.

Layams recruitment governance already focuses on pipeline ageing, conversion, joining ratio, source effectiveness and recruiter productivity, and this role will be expected to operate with the same discipline.

The candidate we are looking for

The ideal candidate should have 5‑8 years of recruitment experience, with a significant portion of that experience specifically in manufacturing / industrial bulk recruitment.

We strongly prefer candidates who have worked with:

General Staffing Companies

Workforce Solutions Companies
Manufacturing‑focused RPO organisations
Apprenticeship / NAPS / NATS organisations

Experience with Automotive OEMs, Auto Components and EMS/Electronics clients will be particularly valuable.

Mandatory experience

Candidates should have demonstrable experience in:

Manufacturing plant recruitment

Not simply hiring engineers or managers for manufacturing companies.

We are looking for actual shop‑floor / workforce recruitment experience.

Bulk / volume hiring

You should have personally handled requirements involving hundreds of positions, rather than only individual lateral vacancies.

Candidate mobilisation

You should know how to generate candidates through ITIs, polytechnics, colleges, vendors, referrals, job fairs, local networks and district‑level sourcing.

Joining management

Your responsibility should have continued beyond selection until the candidate actually reported and joined the plant.

Team handling

You should have experience managing recruiters / sourcing executives / mobilisation teams and reviewing their daily productivity.

Client coordination

You should be comfortable interacting with Plant HR, Corporate HR, staffing coordinators and operations teams regarding manpower shortages, interview schedules and joining commitments.

Manufacturing categories you should understand
  • Production Operators
  • Assembly Operators
  • Machine Operators
  • ITI Candidates
  • Diploma Engineers
  • Graduate Trainees
  • Apprentices
  • NAPS / NATS Candidates

  • Quality Inspectors
  • Line Inspectors
  • Warehouse Associates
  • Stores Personnel
  • Material Handlers
  • Packing Associates
  • Production Trainees
  • Field / Service manpower
Preferred industry exposure

Priority will be given to candidates who have recruited manpower for:

  • Auto Components / Tier‑1 / Tier‑2 suppliers
  • EMS / Electronics Manufacturing
  • Consumer Electronics
  • EV / Battery Manufacturing
  • Tyres & Rubber
  • Engineering Manufacturing
  • Industrial Equipment
  • Consumer Durables
  • Warehousing / Logistics supporting manufacturing plants
Numbers matter in this role

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate measurable recruitment performance.

During the interview, you should be able to clearly explain:

How many open positions you managed

How many candidates your team sourced

How many were selected

How many actually joined

Your highest monthly plant deployment

Your selection‑to‑joining ratio

Number of recruiters managed

Industrial locations handled

Sourcing channels personally developed

We will distinguish between profiles sourced, candidates selected and candidates actually deployed.

Actual joining and deployment are what matter.

Industrial-cluster exposure
  • Chennai Sriperumbudur Oragadam Chengalpattu
  • Hosur Krishnagiri
  • Coimbatore
  • Bengaluru Bidadi Kolar
  • Sri City Tirupati
  • Hyderabad
  • Pune Chakan Ranjangaon
  • Gurugram Manesar
  • Noida / Greater Noida
  • Sanand / Ahmedabad

What success will look like
Success in this position will be measured primarily by:

  • Selection-to-joining ratio
  • Recruiter productivity
  • Recruitment TAT
  • Candidate dropout / no-show percentage
  • Recruitment‑vendor productivity
  • Strength of future candidate pipeline
  • Source effectiveness
  • Accuracy of recruitment MIS
  • Client satisfaction

Layams existing recruitment methodology emphasises joining assurance, daily pipeline reviews, weekly conversion reviews and escalation of recruitment bottlenecks.

What we offer

This role provides an opportunity to move beyond an individual recruiter or team‑leader position and become part of a larger national manufacturing recruitment organisation.

  • Multi‑location manufacturing recruitment
  • Large client accounts
  • High‑volume plant ramp‑ups
  • PAN‑India manpower requirements
  • Recruiter‑team management
  • Vendor‑network development
  • ITI / Polytechnic ecosystems
  • Recruitment analytics
  • Client-facing recruitment delivery

High performers can grow into Manager Manufacturing Recruitment Delivery and subsequently take responsibility for larger regional or national recruitment operations.

Compensation will depend on:
  • Manufacturing staffing experience
  • Highest monthly joining volume handled
  • Automotive / EMS experience
  • Recruitment‑team size managed
  • Multi‑location exposure
  • Current CTC and stability

Exceptional candidates with strong demonstrated plant mobilisation numbers may be considered beyond the standard range.

  • BFSI Recruitment
