The ideal candidate will manage boilers, chillers, WTP/ETP, HVAC, and power distribution, develop maintenance plans, and lead a team of technicians and contractors to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical engineering is essential.
• Hands-on experience with utility systems, maintenance planning, and plant engineering.
• Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, FSSAI, and food manufacturing standards.
• Experience with SAP PM or CMMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and operation of plant utilities including boilers, air compressors, chillers, refrigeration systems, cooling towers, DG sets, WTP, ETP, HVAC systems, and electrical distribution.
• Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance plans for utilities and production equipment.
• Experience in handling expansion projects/ project Management
• Ensure maximum equipment uptime and optimize plant efficiency through effective maintenance strategies.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement CAPA.
• Monitor utility consumption and drive cost optimization and energy conservation initiatives.
• Supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and external service providers.
• Ensure timely procurement and inventory management of critical spare parts and maintenance consumables.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSSAI requirements, and engineering best practices.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager Utilities & Maintenance to oversee plant utilities, preventive maintenance, and engineering operations in a food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in utility equipment, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement to ensure maximum equipment reliability and uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the maintenance and operation of all plant utilities including boilers, air compressors, chillers, refrigeration systems, cooling towers, DG sets, water treatment plants (WTP), effluent treatment plants (ETP), HVAC systems, and electrical distribution.
• Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance plans for utilities and production equipment.
• Experience in handling expansion projects/ project Management
• Ensure maximum equipment uptime and optimize plant efficiency through effective maintenance strategies.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor utility consumption (power, steam, water, compressed air, fuel) and drive cost optimization and energy conservation initiatives.
• Supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and external service providers.
• Ensure timely procurement and inventory management of critical spare parts and maintenance consumables.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, FSSAI requirements, and engineering best practices.
• Maintain all maintenance records, equipment history, calibration schedules, and statutory documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Procurement, and Projects teams to ensure seamless plant operations.
• Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and utility systems.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and statutory regulations related to utilities and maintenance.
