Job description

Assistant Manager - Trims CDMM & STA Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• 1. New part development using the APQP process
• 2. Supporting R&D and suppliers in performing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analyses, providing technical inputs to resolve DFM and DFA concerns during product and process development.
• 3. Process planning (process flow design, PFMEA, manufacturing line layout) and quality planning (DVP, PV, MSA, SPC, PPM and warranty sign-off, safe launch plan, agreement of inspection, gauge planning) for all new part development to achieve First Time Right and Every Time Right.
• 4. Identifying the fixtures, tooling, and gauges (FTG) required for the development of the part/product to meet design and quality requirements.
• 5. Establishing and proving out tools, fixtures, and manufacturing processes; conducting supplier process audits, production trial run audits, and PPAP audits to identify gaps and ensure appropriate corrective actions.
• 6. Ensuring quality target compliance of all new part development as per project quality target sign-off and project milestones.
• 7. PPAP approval of parts meeting all design, quality, and capacity requirements according to project milestones.
• 8. Ensuring robust corrective actions are taken using a structured approach for supplier quality concerns during build and validation.
• 9. Supplier quality improvement by implementing best industry practices.
• 10. Continual improvement of part quality, supplier performance, system, and process using Six Sigma and Kaizen approaches.
• 11. Engineering change management
