Job summary

Havells in India seeks an experienced design engineer to develop system tubing, sheet metal and plastic parts for split AC units. You will focus on material selection, design reviews and mould flow analysis to ensure robust products.

Role involves NPD readiness, 3D/2D design, VAVE contributions, and collaboration across functions to meet cost and reliability targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in design and development of system tubing, sheet metal and plastic parts for split AC.
• Knowledge of sheet metal and plastic material selection.
• Experience with design reviews, DFM/DFA and mould flow analysis.
• Understanding of NPD process for SAC (Split AC).
• 3D/2D design readiness per NPD schedule.
• Exposure to VAVE and quality improvements for sheet metal/plastic parts.
• Knowledge of performance and reliability testing for SAC.
• Knowledge of tooling and machines for sheet metal and plastic parts production.
• Knowledge of costing of sheet metal and plastic parts.
• Competitor product benchmarking.
• Coordination with cross-functional departments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop system tubing, sheet metal and plastic parts for split AC.
• Select compatible sheet metal and plastic materials.
• Perform design reviews, DFM/DFA and mould flow analyses.
• Contribute to NPD for SAC products.
• Prepare 3D/2D designs according to the NPD schedule.
• Support VAVE and quality improvements of metal/plastic parts.
• Evaluate performance and reliability testing for SAC.
• Oversee tooling and machines for sheet metal/plastic production.
• Estimate costing of sheet metal and plastic parts.
• Benchmark competitor products.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments.
