Job summary

Astrotech Steels Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Quality Control professional to oversee inspection and assurance activities in sheet metal fabrication, ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality standards.

You will monitor QC activities, inspect materials and finished products, ensure compliance with drawings, and conduct dimensional inspections. CAPA and root cause analysis will be used to implement improvements and support audits.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–10 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and dimensional inspection.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Knowledge of 7 QC tools, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
• Good analytical, communication, and team coordination skills.

• Conduct dimensional inspections using measuring instruments.
• Identify defects, analyse root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
• Handle customer complaints and support customer and supplier audits.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives to reduce rejection and rework.
• Ensure adherence to quality management systems and company procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–10 years of experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing is preferred.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and dimensional inspection.
