Job summary

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering invites an experienced Mechanical Procurement leader to drive end-to-end procurement of mechanical packages for large-scale water treatment projects in Mumbai.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 12–15 years progressive experience, strong vendor development and negotiation skills, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely delivery and cost optimization. Mumbai-based role within a water-treatment-focused unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in mechanical procurement.
• Experience from water treatment industry will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead procurement activities for mechanical packages across multiple projects.
• Drive cost optimization and savings targets through strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and long-term procurement planning.
• Oversee vendor development initiatives, building a robust supplier base and ensuring performance standards are consistently met.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and concerned teams to ensure seamless procurement execution and timely resolution of issues.
• Establish procurement strategies for complex mechanical packages (pumps, blowers, rotary equipment, valves, HRSCC, DAF systems, etc.) and ensure adherence to budgets.
• Monitor supplier performance, manage escalations, and ensure timely delivery of materials to Factory and project sites.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, contractual obligations, and industry standards in all procurement activities.
• Oversee timely vendor payments in coordination with finance/accounts, maintaining healthy supplier relationships.
