Job summary

JAC Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Manager - Production Planning & Control in an automotive components environment in India. You will oversee material management, inventory control, warehouse operations, and production planning to ensure smooth material flow and cost-efficient production.

The role involves managing Kanban, JIT, ERP/SAP systems, and 5S practices while developing operational teams and coordinating with cross-functional groups to meet IATF requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage material receipt, Kanban systems, inventory, spare parts, and warehouse operations.
  • Oversee inventory control for raw materials, sub-assemblies, FG and goods in transit.
  • Optimise warehouse space utilisation and implement storage improvements.
  • Manage workforce deployment, monitor productivity, and maintain process flow.
  • Use SAP or ERP systems for inventory and material management.
  • Promote 5S and workplace safety standards across operations.
  • Monitor targets, conduct performance reviews, and progress action plans.
  • Prepare reports and documentation per IATF requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address defects and corrective actions.
  • Manage logistics assets like trucks, forklifts, trolleys and bins.
  • Monitor material movement and support JIT implementation.
  • Conduct team training and DOJO activities.
  • Maintain communication between management and operations teams.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and cost-optimisation initiatives.

Job description

The Assistant Manager - Production Planning & Control role oversees material management, inventory control, warehouse operations, and production planning activities within an automotive manufacturing environment. The position plays a key part in maintaining efficient material flow, optimising storage and logistics resources, developing operational teams, and supporting cost-effective production.

Responsibilities
  • Manage material receipt, Kanban systems, inventory, spare parts, and warehouse operations

  • Oversee inventory control for raw materials, child parts, sub-assemblies, finished goods, and goods in transit

  • Optimise warehouse space utilisation and implement storage improvement initiatives

  • Manage workforce deployment, monitor productivity, and maintain an efficient process flow

  • Use Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for inventory and material management

  • Promote workplace safety standards and implement the 5S methodology across operations

  • Monitor operational targets, conduct performance reviews, and ensure the timely completion of action plans

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation in accordance with International Automotive Task Force (IATF) requirements

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address defective materials and implement corrective actions

  • Manage logistics assets, including trucks, forklifts, trolleys, and bins

  • Monitor material movement and support Just-in-Time (JIT) implementation

  • Conduct team training, skill development, and DOJO activities

  • Maintain effective communication between management and operational teams

  • Prepare annual budgets and support cost optimisation initiatives

Requirements
