Aufgaben

• Lead and oversee machine shop operations during assigned shifts to achieve production targets.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
• Drive productivity improvements through effective utilization of manpower, machines, and resources.
• Monitor daily production performance and take corrective actions to eliminate bottlenecks.
• Plan and deploy manpower effectively based on production requirements.
• Train, guide, and develop operators and new employees on processes, quality standards, and safety practices.
• Build multi-skilled teams to improve operational flexibility and efficiency.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, and overall workforce performance.
• Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Conduct daily loss analysis and downtime reviews.
• Identify productivity losses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Supervise and optimize machining processes including VMC, SPM, Expansion Honing, Single Pass Honing, Grinding Operations.
• Ensure process capability, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to process parameters.
• Support cycle time reduction and process optimization initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance on CNC machine programming and setup (Fanuc, Siemens, Brother).
• Support program optimization and troubleshooting activities to improve machine performance.
• Diagnose and resolve machine-related issues and process deviations.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdown management.
• Implement preventive measures to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Ensure availability and proper utilization of jigs, fixtures, tools, and gauges.
• Monitor tool life and recommend improvements to enhance productivity.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions, Process Flow Diagrams, Production and Process Documentation.
• Ensure process documentation is regularly updated and communicated.
• Ensure compliance with customer and internal quality requirements.
• Analyze defects, rejections, and process deviations; conduct RCA with 5 Why and Fishbone diagram.
• Drive defect reduction and process improvement initiatives.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure EHS compliance.
• Conduct safety observations and risk assessments.
• Maintain 5S practices and a safe work environment.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports; analyze data in Excel; prepare management presentations in PowerPoint.

Job Summary

Relevant experience to lead shop floor production activities and ensure the achievement of production, quality, delivery, and safety objectives. Managing shift operations, manpower deployment, machine utilization, process improvement, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the machine shop.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in machining operations, CNC programming, production planning, OEE monitoring, and team management in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Shift Management

• Lead and oversee machine shop operations during assigned shifts to achieve production targets.

• Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments.

• Drive productivity improvements through effective utilization of manpower, machines, and resources.

• Monitor daily production performance and take corrective actions to eliminate bottlenecks.

Manpower Planning & Team Development

• Plan and deploy manpower effectively based on production requirements.

OEE & Performance Monitoring

Machining Operations

• Supervise and optimize machining processes including:

• Ensure process capability, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to process parameters.

• Support cycle time reduction and process optimization initiatives.

CNC Programming & Technical Support

• Provide technical guidance on CNC machine programming and setup.

• Work with machine controls including:

Troubleshooting & Maintenance Coordination

• Diagnose and resolve machine-related issues and process deviations.

Jigs, Fixtures & Tooling Management

• Ensure availability and proper utilization of jigs, fixtures, tools, and gauges.

• Support development and improvement of machining fixtures and tooling.

• Monitor tool life and recommend improvements to enhance productivity.

Technical Documentation

• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and process requirements.

• Develop and maintain:

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Work Instructions

  • Process Flow Diagrams

  • Production and Process Documentation

• Ensure process documentation is regularly updated and effectively communicated.

Quality Management

• Ensure compliance with customer and internal quality requirements.

• Analyze defects, rejections, and process deviations.

• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions using quality tools such as 5 Why Analysis and Fishbone Diagram.

• Drive initiatives for defect reduction and process improvement.

Safety & Compliance

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
