Job summary

Jabsons Foods Pvt. Ltd. in Gujarat seeks an Assistant Manager (Production) to oversee daily production activities, ensure plans are met, and drive cost control, continuous improvement and safe operations.

The role leads supervisors and shop floor staff to achieve targets while maintaining adherence to quality standards. The incumbent will coordinate with plant management, manage budgets, implement 5S, and drive TPM on shopfloor equipment, with strong emphasis on food safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Masters or bachelor’s degree in engineering or food science. MBA in Operations Management, Production Management will be preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in FMCG Food Industry.
• Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience of controlling Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), production costs is essential.
• Familiarity with food safety standards such as ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRCGS or AIB is essential.
• Excellent communication in Hindi & English; leadership and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resources and minimizing costs.
• Monitor production processes and identify productivity, quality, and safety improvement opportunities.
• Understand the needs and expectations of internal customers.
• Assist plant manager in organizing, planning, and implementing manufacturing strategy.
• Collaborate with stores and PPIC for smooth supply of raw materials & packing materials to production lines.
• Assist in budgeting and monitoring operational expenses within the budget.
• Implement 5S on the shopfloor area.
• Ensure Total Productive Maintenance on shopfloor machinery with maintenance support.
• Lead, mentor, and coach a diverse team of supervisors and operators.
• Foster accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Provide training and development opportunities for staff.
• Manage staffing, labor allocation and schedules to meet targets.
• Optimize equipment utilization and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

Position Overview

Assistant Manager - Production will be responsible for daily production activities. He will ensure plant production as per plan, meeting all the quality parameters. He will be responsible for managing & guiding the team of production supervisors & shop floor employees. He will ensure that he & his team are focused on manufacturing cost control, continuous improvement, optimization of production throughputs and maintaining safe working environment.

QUALIFICATION

Masters or bachelor’s degree in engineering or food science. MBA in Operations Management, Production Management will be preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in FMCG Food Industry.
• Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated track record of managing complex production systems, large work force, driving operational excellence & achieving the production targets.
• Familiarity of problem-solving techniques viz. Fish Bone Analysis, Pareto analysis
• Experience of controlling Over all Equipment Efficiency (OEE), production costs is essential.
• Exposure to & experience in following one or more Food Safety Standard requirements viz. ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRCGS or AIB is essential.
• Proficiency in computer software applications such as ERP systems, MS Office Suite, and manufacturing software is preferable.
• Excellent communication both oral & verbal in Hindi & English, good interpersonal relationship with peers, juniors & seniors is essential.
• Leadership quality, ability to work in team and to maintaining positivity is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Leadership

• Prepare and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resources and minimizing costs.
• Monitor production processes and identify productivity, quality, and safety improvement opportunities.

1. Assisting the plant manager in organizing, planning, and implementing manufacturing strategy
2. Collaboration with stores and PPIC function for smooth supply of raw materials & packing materials & consumable etc. to production lines.
3. Assist in budgeting and monitoring operational expenses within the budget.
4. Implement "5S" on the shopfloor area.
5. Ensure Total Productive Maintenance on shopfloor machinery with the help of maintenance.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• To uphold product quality and consistency.
• In collaboration with the QC-QA team, conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address any quality issues or non-conformities.

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and coach a diverse team of supervisors, and operators.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance employee skills and knowledge.

Resource Management

• Manage staffing levels, labor allocation, and employee schedules to meet production targets.
• Optimize equipment utilization and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Safety Compliance

• Develop a safety culture inside the plant, report incidents to the Safety department and take corrective actions to stop future reoccurrence.
• Near miss reporting, unsafe act, unsafe condition identification and mitigation for better & safer work environment.

Continuous Improvement

• Lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement in production processes, equipment reliability, and cost reduction.
• Production data collection & analysis for better productivity.
• Implement world class manufacturing practices to streamline production.

REPORTS & MEETINGS

• Prepare daily, weekly monthly reports.
• Prepare MIS report
• Participate in following meetings
