Role Purpose
The Assistant Manager – Product Development is responsible for driving product development across the entire lifecycle of commercial real estate projects: from concept and design brief to construction, possession, and post-possession operations. This is a management-focused role, responsible for product planning, cross-functional coordination, quality management, market research, and continuous product enhancement. The role works closely with consultants, internal teams, and business stakeholders to ensure every project is market-driven, operationally efficient, and aligned with the company's product vision.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development
- Prepare feasibility studies, product strategies, and design briefs for new and existing projects.
- Benchmark projects against leading national and international commercial developments.
- Identify product innovations and recommend improvements throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Architects, Engineering, PMC, Sales, Leasing, Marketing, and Property Management teams to ensure seamless product delivery.
- Facilitate design reviews, implementation tracking, and stakeholder alignment across all project stages.
Quality & Specification Management
- Monitor adherence to approved specifications, design intent, and quality standards.
- Conduct product audits, track deviations, review mock-ups, and support possession readiness.
Research & Business Intelligence
- Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, infrastructure studies, and product trend analysis.
- Evaluate customer feedback, RFPs, IPC inputs, and operational efficiencies to support future product development.
Business Support
- Develop presentations, product reports and benchmarking studies for leadership reviews.
- Lead product training and knowledge-sharing initiatives across business teams
Requirements
- B.Arch. mandatory
- M.Arch. will be preferred
- MBA is an added advantage
- 3-5 years of work experience
- Ability to work with and coordinate GFC drawings
- Strong capability in project progress monitoring is desirable.
- Knowledge of Green Building standards, sustainability initiatives, and coordination of certification processes such as IGBC, LEED, GRIHA, or equivalent, BREEAM. Wellness, EDGE, aligned with project deliverables.
- Exposure to interior design, test fits, and fit out coordination will be an added advantage.
