Job summary

Mangal Industries in Chennai seeks an experienced Automation Professional for Asst Manager PCA Electrical Design. You will lead automation concept development, PLC/HMI programming, electrical product selection, and machine building.

You will manage ASRS and warehouse automation projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, work with common PLC platforms, HMI tools, and industrial protocols, and drive testing, commissioning and documentation.

Qualifications

• Automation concept development and PLC/HMI programming experience.
• Exposure to ASRS and warehouse automation projects.
• Ability to lead automation projects and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute automation projects, including ASRS, SPM, line and process automation.
• Develop PLC programs using Ladder Logic, Structured Text and SCL.
• Hands-on with at least three PLC platforms: Siemens TIA, Studio 5000, GX Works.
• Design and develop HMI applications on major platforms.
• Select electrical products/components per application requirements.
• Work with Industrial protocols: EtherNet/IP, Modbus, CIP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS.
• Prepare I/O Lists, control loops, logic diagrams, and automation docs.
• Lead automation concept development with cross-functional teams.
• Manage electrical drawings, manuals, datasheets, software licenses.
• Handle machine building, integration, testing and commissioning.
• Manage project budgets, cost estimates, POs and OPEX.
• Lead daily activities, goals, and performance of the automation team.
• Support warehouse automation and WMS projects.
• Work on Industry 4.0, IIoT, servers and SQL-based apps.
• Servo tuning experience is an added advantage.
• Robotics programming and languages such as Python, JavaScript or C will be an advantage.

• Design and develop HMI applications using any major HMI platform.
• Select appropriate electrical products/components based on application requirements.
• Work with industrial communication protocols including EtherNet/IP, Modbus, CIP, PROFINET and PROFIBUS.
• Prepare I/O Lists, Control Loops, Logic Diagrams and Electrical/Automation documentation.
• Lead automation concept development in coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure proper management and documentation of electrical drawings, manuals, instrument datasheets, software packages and licenses.
• Handle machine building, automation integration, testing and commissioning.
• Manage automation project budgets, cost estimates, POs and operational expenses.
• Manage day-to-day activities, goal setting, performance and development of the automation team.
• Support warehouse automation and WMS-related projects.
• Work on Industry 4.0, IIoT, servers and SQL-based applications.

• Knowledge of Robotics Programming and programming languages such as Python, JavaScript or C will be an advantage.
