Job summary

Bellavita is seeking an Assistant Manager Procurement to lead packaging procurement and strategic sourcing in Mumbai. You will build and manage a strong supplier base, drive cost optimization and collaborate with NPD, R&D, Quality and Marketing to support new product launches.

You will also guide the procurement team, set KPIs, and ensure governance, contracts and risk management across direct and indirect categories to maintain supply continuity.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in procurement, preferably FMCG, Beauty & Personal Care, Consumer Goods or Manufacturing.
• Strong strategic sourcing and category management skills and a track record in packaging procurement.
• Proven ability to negotiate, cost projects and manage supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement of packaging materials including glass bottles, jars, caps and boxes.
• Drive strategic sourcing, localization and alternate supplier opportunities.
• Identify, onboard and manage suppliers ensuring quality, cost and delivery performance.
• Negotiate and benchmark to drive savings and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with NPD, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and Marketing for launches.
• Oversee procurement of finished goods, Capex, MRO and indirect categories.
• Lead and develop the procurement team with KPI setting and category expertise.
• Work cross-functionally with SCM, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality and Warehouse to ensure timely supply.
• Ensure governance, contracts, POs, supplier risk management and analytics.

As the Assistant Manager Procurement for Bellavita, you will be responsible for:

• Packaging Procurement: Lead procurement of Glass bottles, jars, caps, pumps, tubes, cartons, labels, mono cartons, corrugated boxes and other packaging materials.
• Strategic Sourcing: Identify cost-saving, localization and alternate sourcing opportunities while building a strong supplier base.
• Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, onboard and manage suppliers, ensuring strong quality, cost, capacity and delivery performance.
• Cost Optimization: Drive savings through negotiations, benchmarking, value engineering, shouldcosting and alternate sourcing.
• NPD Procurement: Partner with NPD, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and Marketing teams to support new product launches and commercialization.
• Finished Goods & Indirect Procurement: Oversee procurement of finished goods, Capex, MRO, services and other indirect categories, wherever applicable.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop the procurement team, set KPIs and build category expertise.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with SCM, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, NPD, Marketing and Warehouse teams to ensure timely supply.
• Governance & Risk Management: Ensure procurement compliance, contracts, POs, supplier risk management, business continuity, MIS and procurement analytics.

What you bring to the table:

• Relevant experience: 46 years in procurement, preferably in FMCG, Beauty & Personal Care, Consumer Goods, Pharma or Manufacturing.
• Procurement expertise: Strong experience in strategic sourcing, category management, packaging procurement and NPD procurement.
• Commercial & supplier management: Strong negotiation, costing, benchmarking, supplier development and vendor performance management skills.
• Analytical & systems skills: Strong market intelligence and analytical skills, with proficiency in ERP / SAP and advanced Excel.
• Education & leadership: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA / PGDM is an advantage. Proven experience in leading and developing procurement teams.
