Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Hazira site seeks an NDT Co-Ordinator – Quality to coordinate, monitor and control all NDT activities for fabrication projects, ensuring testing, reporting and compliance with project specifications, codes and client requirements.

You will interact with Production, Welding, QA/QC, Clients, TPIs and Certifying Authorities to achieve project quality objectives, review NDT procedures, and ensure timely completion of inspections and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum NDT Level II in all methods; PCN Level II; ASNT NDT Level 3 preferred.
  • Strong competency in RT, UT, MT, PT and PAUT/TOFD; CR/DR knowledge.
  • Knowledge of ASME, AWS, API and client requirements.
  • Ability to prepare and review NDT procedures and reports.
  • Good coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read vessel, piping, structural drawings.
  • Proficiency in NDT equipment calibration and quality requirements.
  • MS Office and digital NDT records management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and implement NDT procedures, technique sheets and inspection plans per codes.
  • Coordinate NDT activities with QA/QC, Production, Welding, Planning, Clients, and authorities.
  • Ensure timely execution of RT, UT, MT, PT, PAUT, TOFD per project.
  • Monitor daily NDT progress and align with fabrication schedules.
  • Verify calibration status of NDT equipment and compliance with requirements.
  • Review NDT reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Monitor NDT manpower deployment and resource utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API and client requirements.
  • Support client inspections, audits, surveillance.
  • Maintain NDT databases, records and traceability.
  • Promote safe working practices and EHS compliance.

Job description

Role : NDT Co-Ordinator – Quality
Location : MFF , Hazira
Reporting to : Head - Quality

Purpose Of Role

To coordinate, monitor and control all NDT activities for fabrication projects, ensuring timely execution of testing, reporting and compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, client requirements, safety standards and fabrication schedules. The role shall support effective interaction with Production, Welding, QA/QC, Clients, TPIs and Certifying Authorities to achieve project quality objectives.

Key Responsibility Areas
  • Prepare, review and implement NDT procedures, technique sheets and inspection plans in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate NDT activities with QA/QC, Production, Welding, Planning, Clients, TPI agencies and Certifying Authorities.
  • Ensure timely execution of RT, UT, MT, PT, PAUT, TOFD and other applicable NDT methods as per project requirements.
  • Monitor daily NDT progress and ensure completion of inspection activities in line with fabrication schedules.
  • Verify validity and calibration status of NDT equipment and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Surveillance, Witness, Cross checks NDT activities at site and resolve technical issues related to inspection and testing.
  • Review NDT reports and records for completeness, accuracy and compliance prior to submission.
  • Monitor NDT manpower deployment and optimize utilization of resources.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, ASME, AWS, API and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Support client inspections, audits and surveillance activities related to NDT.
  • Maintain NDT databases, records and traceability documentation.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure adherence to EHS requirements during NDT activities.

  • NDT completion in line with fabrication/project schedule.
  • Timely issuance and submission of NDT reports.
  • Zero overdue NDT requests.
  • 100% calibration compliance of NDT equipment.

  • Zero major client/TPI observations attributable to NDT activities.

  • Timely closure of NDT-related non-conformities.
  • Compliance with safety requirements and zero violation during NDT execution.
Specific Skill Sets/Competencies Required
  • Minimum NDT Level II in all methods, PCN Level II, ASNT NDT LEVEL 3 preferred
  • Strong technical competency in RT, UT, MT, PT and advanced NDT methods such as PAUT and TOFD, CR, DR
  • Knowledge of ASME, AWS, API and client-specific requirements.
  • Ability to prepare and review NDT procedures, technique sheets and reports.
  • Good coordination, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand vessel, piping, structural and fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledge of NDT equipment calibration and quality requirements.
