Job summary

Visaka Industries Limited in Mouda, Nagpur, is seeking a Head of Quality Control (QC Dept HOD) to lead the textile spinning unit's QC activities. You will ensure quality of incoming fibre, in-process material and finished yarn, while upholding relevant quality, environmental and product certifications.

Responsibilities include supervising testing, approving compliant lots, addressing non-conformances, and driving CAPA with production, maintenance, R&D and marketing.

Qualifications

• Experience handling quality and technical activities in a textile spinning unit; knowledge of maintenance and yarn quality.
• Strong skills in data interpretation, analysis, customer handling, problem-solving and new product development.
• Knowledge of textile yarn markets, factory statutory requirements, certification systems and external-agency coordination.

Job description

Designation: QC dept HOD

Location: Mouda, Nagpur,

ROLE PURPOSE

Lead the Quality Control Department for the textile spinning unit, ensuring quality of incoming fibre, in-process material and finished yarn, while maintaining applicable quality, environmental and product certifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process materials and finished yarn; review lot-wise, machine-wise and count-wise quality results, and ensure records and test certificates are maintained.
• Approve lots that meet specifications; identify non-conforming material, recommend rework or rejection, and stop machines/spindles or deliveries where quality correction is required.
• Investigate customer complaints, coordinate customer visits where required, prepare complaint-analysis reports and drive corrective and preventive actions with production, maintenance, purchase, R&D and marketing teams.
• Lead implementation, maintenance and audits of ISO 9001:2015 (QMS), ISO 14001:2015 (EMS), GRS, RCS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 requirements, including documentation, renewals, traceability and transaction certificates where applicable.
• Monitor quality trends, deviations, customer feedback and monthly reports; conduct quality review meetings and plant rounds, and recommend process, product and cost improvements.
• Manage QCD manpower, training, performance and development; ensure appropriate testing equipment, calibration, AMC renewals and instrument upgrades.
• Coordinate with certification bodies, auditors, suppliers and external agencies; support budgets, cost-saving proposals, safety initiatives and statutory compliance relevant to the role.

AUTHORITY & REPORTING

Authority: Pass compliant lots, issue yarn test certificates, initiate quality-related stoppages/corrections, communicate test results and manage routine QCD activities. Reports to: Vice President (Works) / General Manager Production. Supervises: Quality Control Department staff and workers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Experience in Polyester/Synthetic Yarn spinning are preferred.
