Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Manufacturing Plant

Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Head

Job Purpose

To ensure reliable and safe operation of all electrical systems, machinery and equipment by carrying out preventive, breakdown and corrective maintenance and ensuring compliance with electrical safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance

• Attend electrical breakdowns and ensure minimum machine downtime.
• Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Maintain motors, starters, MCC/PCC panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS and electrical distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults in machines, control panels and production equipment.
• Monitor electrical parameters and identify potential failures.
• Ensure proper functioning of lighting, power distribution and utility systems.
• Maintain HT/LT electrical systems and distribution networks.
• Monitor DG, transformer, compressor, boiler and other utility electrical systems.
• Coordinate with external agencies/contractors for electrical maintenance work.
• Ensure availability of critical electrical spares.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules and company SOPs.
• Conduct regular inspection of electrical panels, cables, earthing and safety devices.
• Maintain electrical maintenance records and statutory documents.
• Support ISO, safety and statutory audits.
• Monitor plant electricity consumption and identify opportunities for energy saving.
• Track power factor and ensure efficient utilization of electrical equipment.
• Support initiatives for reducing electrical energy costs.

Documentation & MIS

• Maintain breakdown, preventive maintenance and inspection records.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance reports.
• Maintain electrical equipment history and maintenance schedules.
• Update records in ERP/SAP/CMMS, wherever applicable.

Required Qualification
