Job summary

Varthana is seeking a qualified law professional to lead collections operations and legal actions for branch networks. The role focuses on collections, MIS reporting, and coordinating with external law firms to manage delinquent accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a BA LLB with 5-7 years of experience in filing cases under section 138, strong communication, and a proactive approach to dispute resolution and compliance.

Qualifications

• BA LLB degree required.
• 5-7 years of experience in filing cases under section 138 and arbitration processes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn and take initiative.
• Knowledge of MIS and MS Excel advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead Collection Management to recover dues with ethical conduct.
• Guide collections team to secure due amounts from customers.
• Design and circulate MIS on aligned processes.
• Conduct background checks before appointing agencies.
• Ensure zero delinquencies through timely collections at branches.
• Draft legal letters and correspondence for delinquent customers.
• Issue and track dunning letters to delinquent customers.
• Maintain relationships with lawyers and police to pursue legal recourse.
• Coordinate with panel law firms to file cases and ensure follow-ups.
• Appoint law firms at branch locations and allocate filing points across branches.

Responsibilities

• Collection Management:


• Guiding the collections team to collect the due amounts from the customers by following a proper code of conduct


• Designing and circulating MIS on all aligned processes


• Conducting detailed background checks before appointing an agency


• Delinquency Management:


• Ensuring zero delinquencies for the branch by timely and effective collections


• Developing Communication / Legal letters/correspondence for the delinquent customers


• Tracking and sending dunning letters to delinquent customers


• Relationship Management:


• Maintaining a solid relationship with lawyers & police officers and arbitrating for legal recourse by representing the company in courts of law


• Ensuring regular follow-up with the panel law firms to file cases


• Appointing law firms at branch locations, and allocating points to file across the branches

Qualification & Experience

• Minimum Education Qualification: Graduated with BA L.L.B


• 5 - 7 years of experience in filing cases on sec 138 and understanding the arbitration process / NBFC / Banking collection


• Influential communication skills


• Self-motivated, passionate about the domain, eager to learn new things, and takes initiative & challenges


• Knowledge of MIS and MS Excel
