If you have hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and SIEM tools, you will thrive in this role. The position involves incident handling, firewall changes, and collaboration with SOC and Infra teams.

Qualifications

• Fortinet NSE 4/5/7 certifications or equivalent.
• Palo Alto PCNSE/PCNSA certifications.
• Check Point CCSA/CCSE certifications.
• CCNP Security / CISSP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as L2 escalation point for security incidents, focusing on Fortinet technologies.
• Troubleshoot firewall policies, VPNs, routing, and security services.
• Perform advanced log analysis, threat investigation, and RCA.
• Implement and optimize firewall rule changes across Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Check Point.
• Support firewall upgrades, patches, migrations, and health checks.
• Collaborate with SOC, Network, and Infrastructure teams during high-severity incidents.
• Mentor L1 engineers and contribute to SOPs and runbooks.
• Participate in 24x7 NOC operations, including on-call shifts.

Job Summary

The L2 Security Engineer will provide advanced security operations support within a 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC). The role will be primarily responsible for managing and troubleshooting Fortinet security solutions, while also supporting Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls as secondary technologies. The position involves handling complex escalations, major security incidents, firewall changes, and ensuring continuous availability, performance, and compliance of enterprise security infrastructure.

Technical Skill Set

Primary Skills – Fortinet

• FortiGate Firewall (policy management, NAT, routing, UTM features)
• FortiManager & FortiAnalyzer
• IPS, Antivirus, Web Filtering, Application Control
• Fortinet VPNs (IPsec & SSL)
• HA, clustering, and firmware upgrades/troubleshooting

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to firewall policies, VPNs, routing, and security services.
• Perform advanced log analysis, threat investigation, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Implement, review, and optimize firewall rule changes across Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Check Point platforms.
• Support firewall upgrades, patches, migrations, and health checks.
• Collaborate with SOC, Network, and Infrastructure teams during high‑severity incidents.
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies and regulatory standards.
• Mentor L1 engineers and contribute to SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge documentation.
• Participate in 24x7 NOC operations, including on‑call and rotational shifts.
