Job summary

22by7 Solutions in Bengaluru, Karnataka seeks an experienced Fortinet Firewall Operations specialist to manage day-to-day FortiGate activities, monitor health and security events, and troubleshoot NAT, VPNs, and routing. You will analyze logs, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate with Fortinet support to resolve complex issues.

The role requires 3+ years of FortiGate experience, hands-on firewall operations, and customer-facing troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Firewall / Network Security operations.
• Strong hands-on with Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls.
• Experience in L2/L3 technical support environment.
• Experience handling customer-facing firewall troubleshooting calls.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day operations and administration of Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls.
• Monitor firewall health, connectivity, traffic, and security events.
• Create, modify, and troubleshoot Firewall Policies and Security Rules.
• Configure and troubleshoot NAT, routing, and network connectivity.
• Configure and troubleshoot IPsec VPN and SSL VPN.
• Troubleshoot FortiGate HA and firewall failover-related issues.
• Analyze firewall logs and traffic flows to identify and resolve connectivity issues.
• Perform firewall configuration changes and troubleshoot issues independently.
• Troubleshoot application and user connectivity issues through firewall traffic analysis.
• Identify and resolve firewall-related incidents within the required timelines.
• Handle L2/L3 technical troubleshooting calls related to Fortinet Firewalls.
• Perform root-cause analysis for recurring or complex firewall issues.
• Coordinate with Fortinet/OEM support and L3 teams when advanced troubleshooting is required.
• Manage FortiGate devices using FortiManager.
• Perform configuration changes and policy management through FortiManager.
• Troubleshoot FortiManager-related configuration and synchronization issues.
• Understand ADOMs, policy packages, device management, and configuration deployment.

Fortinet Firewall Operations Primary Responsibility

Network / Supporting Skills

• Good knowledge of Switching and VLANs.
• Good understanding of Routing and TCP/IP networking.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SD-WAN.
• Basic knowledge of Zscaler and ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of DNS, DHCP, ARP and general network connectivity.
