Job summary

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies India Private Limited is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead safety strategy and compliance at the Pune plant. The role requires driving risk assessments, audits, and continuous improvement while coordinating with the SEO and plant leadership to meet ISO standards.

You will mentor the HSE team, engage employees in safety initiatives, and ensure statutory HSE requirements are met across all operations in line with corporate policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business, technical, or engineering.
• 6+ years of HSE management experience including leadership and safety program development.
• Strong knowledge of local HSE laws, ISO 14001/45001.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Workday, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities:

• HSE Strategy Implementation: Drive, develop, and implement HSE strategies in the local plant, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, regulations, and continuous improvement objectives.
• Accident Prevention & Safety Oversight: Lead initiatives to prevent accidents, manage risk assessments, and support plant management in fulfilling statutory and company HSE requirements.
• Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and assessments of plant installations and technical equipment to ensure compliance with local laws and ISO standards.
• Crisis Management & Consultation: Act as a consultant to the Site Executive Officer (SEO) in matters related to local crisis management and emergency response plans.
• Leadership & Training: Lead the HSE team, coordinate the work of HSE Officers, and implement training programs to raise employee awareness of HSE policies and procedures.
• Continuous Improvement in HSE: Act as the connecting point for HSE topics across departments, fostering continuous improvement of HSE processes in the local plant.
• HSE Program Implementation: Oversee the implementation of corporate and local HSE initiatives, ensuring alignment with company and regulatory standards.
• Risk Management & Mitigation: Lead risk assessments and manage risk mitigation plans, ensuring that all plant operations adhere to established safety protocols.
• Statutory & Corporate HSE Compliance: Ensure the plant adheres to statutory HSE requirements and company standards, including supporting plant leadership in achieving and maintaining certifications.
• Employee Engagement & Mentoring: Provide mentorship and counseling to the HSE team and plant employees, encouraging open-mindedness and objectivity in safety practices and conflict resolution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or above, ideally in a business, technical, or engineering discipline.
• Over 6 years of job-specific work experience in HSE management, including leadership roles in team management and safety program development.
• Strong knowledge of local HSE laws and regulations, corporate standards, and ISO certifications relevant to HSE (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) at an advanced level.
• Proficiency in Workday and SharePoint.
• Expertise in conducting HSE audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Fluent in local language and English.
