Job summary

Soho House & Co in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Engineering & Maintenance leader to oversee daily operations, ensuring equipment reliability and minimal downtime across BMS, HVAC, cold rooms, boilers and other MEP systems.

You will lead shift engineers and technicians, drive preventive maintenance, manage safety standards, coordinate with vendors, and ensure statutory compliance while delivering high-quality service to guests and operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Mechanical, Electrical or relevant engineering.
• Hands-on experience in hotel, hospitality, premium F&B or commercial facilities engineering.
• Strong knowledge of building services including HVAC, electrical systems and kitchen equipment.
• Experience in supervising teams, vendor management, preventive maintenance and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Engineering & Maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
• Lead maintenance tasks: installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of MEP systems.
• Supervise Shift Engineers and technicians, fostering a responsive service-oriented team.
• Drive preventive maintenance schedules, safety compliance and maintenance documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors, evaluate equipment needs, and support procurement decisions.
• Ensure statutory compliance and timely renewals with authorities and utility providers.
• Address guest and operational engineering complaints with urgency and professionalism.
• Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost optimization.
• Lead operations in the absence of the Chief Engineer to ensure business continuity.

• Drive preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown management, safety standards and maintenance documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors, evaluate equipment requirements, negotiate competitive rates and support procurement decisions.
• Liaise with relevant authorities and utility providers to ensure statutory compliance and timely renewals.
• Attend to guest and operational engineering complaints with urgency and professionalism.
• Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, cost optimisation and improved engineering performance.
• Lead departmental operations in the absence of the Chief Engineer, ensuring business continuity.
