Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Mechatronics.
• 6–10 years hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering in automotive vehicle assembly.
• Experience in RFQ-to-commissioning, MES/IIoT integration, and ABS testing.

Responsibilities

• Line Balancing & Process Optimization: conduct time studies and analyses to balance lines and remove NVA steps.
• Facility & Tooling Development: design layouts and procure tools, jigs, fixtures, Poka-Yokes, and ABS testing facilities.
• Industry 4.0 & Digital Manufacturing: integrate MES, IIoT networks, and Vehicle Genealogy tracking.
• Quality Governance & PFMEA: resolve non-conformances using 8D/A3; update PFMEAs and SOPs.
• Cross-Functional & Packaging Support: provide shop-floor engineering support and oversee CKD packaging standards.

Job Description:

The Assistant Manager/ Deputy Manager - Manufacturing Engineering (Vehicle Assembly) is responsible for driving line balancing, process optimization, layout designing, and facility commissioning across vehicle assembly operations. Sitting at the intersection of process engineering and Industry 4.0, this role leads the procurement and integration of tooling, jigs, fixtures, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) testing facilities, and Low-Cost Automation (LCA) solutions. The incumbent executes line trials, implements ergonomic improvements (REBA/RULA), drives PFMEA and quality non-conformance root cause analysis, and embeds MES/IIoT traceability (Vehicle Genealogy) to ensure high-efficiency, safe, and cost-effective assembly operations up to final handover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Line Balancing & Process Optimization: Conduct time studies and workflow analyses to eliminate Non-Value-Added (NVA) activities, balancing assembly lines to boost efficiency and operational productivity.
• Facility & Tooling Development: Design plant layouts for expansions and handle end-to-end procurement (RFQ to DAP trials, site installation, and commissioning) for tools, jigs, fixtures, Poka-Yokes, and ABS testing facilities.
• Industry 4.0 & Digital Manufacturing: Integrate Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), IIoT networks, and Vehicle Genealogy tracking while executing Low-Cost Automation (LCA) and ergonomic upgrades (REBA/RULA).
• Quality Governance & PFMEA: Collaborate with Quality to resolve process non-conformances using 8D/A3 tools, update PFMEAs and Control Plans, and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Cross-Functional & Packaging Support: Provide daily shop-floor engineering support, resolve line bottlenecks, drive VAVE/cost-reduction projects, and oversee CKD packaging standards and material handling systems.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Mechatronics Engineering
• Experience: 6–10 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering / process engineering within automotive vehicle assembly environments (OEMs or major Tier-1 system integrators)
• Core Competencies: End-to-end RFQ-to-commissioning execution, MES/IIoT integration, ABS facility testing, line balancing, and ergonomic workstation design
