Job summary

G R Infraprojects in Haryana, India invites an experienced Cost Estimator for Transmission Line (HV/EHV) and Substation projects. You will prepare cost estimates, analyze tender docs, and work with engineering, procurement, and bid teams to optimize cost solutions.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering and 12-year costing experience with HV/EHV systems and AIS/GIS substations, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP or similar ERP tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (preferred).
• 612 years of experience in costing/estimation for Transmission Line and Substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of HV/EHV systems (132kV to 765kV and above).
• Understanding AIS/GIS substations, transmission line design, and EPC project execution.
• Proficiency in BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and cost modeling.
• Familiarity with tendering processes for utilities, PSUs, and private sector clients.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools; experience with ERP systems (SAP, etc.) is a plus.
• Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for Transmission Line (HV/EHV) and Substation projects (AIS/GIS).
• Analyze tender documents, BOQs, drawings, and technical specifications to derive cost inputs.
• Work closely with engineering, procurement, and bid management teams to develop optimized cost solutions.
• Perform quantity take-offs for materials such as towers, conductors, insulators, transformers, switchgear, and civil works.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotations for major components and services.
• Develop cost break-ups including material, labor, logistics, taxes, and contingencies.
• Support preparation of techno-commercial bids and pricing strategies.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and value engineering options.
• Conduct benchmarking and maintain historical cost databases for reference.
• Analyze project risks and incorporate cost implications.
• Assist in post-bid clarifications and negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory norms.
