Job summary

Sperton in Delhi seeks an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead substation design tasks for AIS & GIS projects. You will review tender documents, prepare design intent documents, and coordinate with Civil and Secondary teams to ensure on-time deliverables, safety by design, and adherence to IEC/IEEE standards.

The role requires 10-15 years of experience, Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, and strong CAD/BIM proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 10-15 years of experience in electrical design for substations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM Tools and BIM 360 for design deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, technical specs and prepare Design Intent Documents.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, with IEC/IEEE/AS standards exposure.
• Prepare and review Substation layouts, grounding, lightning, and cable routing drawings.

Job description

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelors Engineering in Electrical
• 10 -15 years exp
• Proficiency in required CAD design tools (AutoCAD, BIM Tools, BIM 360)

Able to perform the following activities :

1. Review of Tender document, technical specifications and preparation of Design Intent Document

2. Preparation and Review Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE & AS

3. Preparation and Review Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, drawings, Cable routings, Cable tray routings, Clearance drawings,etc

4. Understanding of auxiliary design aspects of substations, such as LVAC / LVDC supplies, Cable sizing,

5. Interface knowledge with Secondary Equipment and Civil system

6. Innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort

7. Plan, implement, review and continuously improvise quality system & follow Opex initiatives

8. Co-ordination with other departments like Secondary, Civil, lead engineer, sourcing, C&R factory counterpart & own department for design progress & completion

9. As Built documentation

10. Ensure the Safety through design principles which meant for complete project lifecycle.

Aware about the following activities:

1. Vendor Offer Evaluations. FAT / SAT of primary equipment, system as and when needed.

2. Technical data sheets verification of equipments. Knowledge of equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc

3. Technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation

4. Support and act as interface engineer during erection & commissioning

5. Estimation of engineering effort for each project for costing at tender stage

6. Innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort

7. Ensure Ontime delivery of design deliverables & to be vigilant on project schedule impacts.

8. Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for the designs and drawings

9. Take part in customer meetings / site visits for tender/project clarifications

11. Plan, implement, review and continuously improvise quality system & follow OPEX initiatives
