Job summary

Latinem seeks an Assistant Manager – Procurement in Hyderabad to lead procurement for the Design, Testing and Supervision Consultancy division. You will drive tendering, contract drafting, and vendor evaluation to optimize costs and delivery timelines.

You will prepare EOI/RFP/RFQ packages, negotiate terms, and coordinate with project teams and finance to ensure SLA/KPI compliance and timely milestone payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related construction field.
• Certification in Supply Chain or Procurement (e.g., CIPS/MCIPS) is advantageous.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) for PR/PO workflows.

Assistant Manager Consultant Services

Department: Procurement

Reports To: Senior Manager

Experience Required: 6–8 years

Role Purpose

Will manage and streamline procurement operations specifically for the Design, Testing and Supervision Consultancy division of a construction firm.

1. Consultancy Sourcing & Tendering

• Manage the end-to-end tendering process for design consultants, architects of record (AOR), MEP engineers, and site supervision teams.
• Prepare and issue expression of interest (EOI), request for proposals (RFP), and request for quotations (RFQ) packages based on technical briefs.
• Conduct thorough commercial evaluations of incoming bids alongside technical reviews performed by the engineering teams.

2. Contract Drafting & Negotiation

• Negotiate on requirement deliverables, commercial terms, resource hourly rates, and delivery schedules with consultancies to maximize cost optimization.
• Draft, review and renew consultancy agreements by utilizing standard / existing contract.
• Manage contract variations, scope changes, and addendums throughout the design and construction supervision lifecycles.

3. Technical & Vendor Evaluation

• Read and interpret architectural blueprints, structural drawings, and technical specifications to ensure the procurement scope is accurate as per provided requirement and scope of work.
• Establish and manage a pre-qualified database of reputable design houses, specialized sub-consultants, and site supervision agencies.
• Assess vendor performance regularly against contract service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

4. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate closely with Project Directors, Lead Architects, Civil Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors to map out procurement schedules.
• Advise internal project teams on value-engineering alternatives during the early design phases to lower overall construction costs.
• Align with the finance and accounts payable departments to track cash flows, process consultant milestones, and release retention payments.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related construction field (Mandatory).
• Certification in Supply Chain or Procurement (e.g., CIPS or MCIPS) is highly advantageous.
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) for PR/PO workflows

• Technical Fluency: Ability to interpret complex design briefs, architectural concepts, and engineering criteria.
• Commercial Acumen: Strong proficiency in cost analysis, budgeting, and commercial risk mitigation.
• Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successfully negotiating high-value professional service contracts.
• Contractual Knowledge: In-depth familiarity with professional consultancy contracts, liability clauses, and professional indemnity insurance (PII).
• Software Proficiency: Mastery of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Candy) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
