Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited in India is seeking a seasoned Cost Engineer to lead BOM costing and pricing strategies for automotive components. You will work closely with procurement and design teams to cost products from drawings, evaluate currency and commodity impacts, and guide a small team of cost engineers.

The role demands deep knowledge of materials, processes, and taxes affecting BOM cost and requires 20+ years of experience in automotive costing.

Qualifications

• B.Tech or equivalent engineering degree required.

Responsibilities

• Know ledge of aggregates used in automotive (sheet metal, plastic, rubber, electrical, electronics, casting and forging).
• Special emphasis on Electrical and Electronics and exposure to new technology and trends.
• Knowledge of plating, welding, PCB technology, etc.
• Know materials rates, standards and trends across industries.
• Ability to cost the product based on drawing/circuit input.
• Establish pricing strategy for key and critical components and suppliers to protect BOM costing.
• Understand Taxes (Domestic and Import) and their impact on BOM costing.
• Develop a team of competent Cost Engineers to generate project zero-base costing.
• Maintain and track multiple projects BOM cost.
• Evaluate and budget impact on BOM cost due to currency and commodity inflations.
