Job description

Job Summary

If you are an HR professional who thrives on ownership and hands-on execution, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for an Assistant Manager Human Resources to support our Talegaon facility (EIMC, spanning the ISV, ACT, MSOL and Branson business units). This role will drive end-to-end HR operations for the plant from onboarding and flexi manpower management to statutory compliance, industrial relations, and employee lifecycle processes. You will work closely with plant leadership, EHS, IT, Admin, and Finance teams to ensure a smooth, compliant, and employee-friendly HR service delivery model for the site.

We value ownership, attention to statutory detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple HR processes across a fast-paced manufacturing environment above all, a genuine commitment to employee experience and compliance.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding and induction for new hires across ISV, ACT, MSOL and Branson — personal file documentation, EHS orientation, PPE and facility tour, HR systems (HCM/attendance) training, IT asset handover, and access/ID card issuance.
  • Drive pre-onboarding activities including offer documentation, pre-employment health check-ups, initiating background verification, relocation support (accommodation, travel, household goods), and welcome/stakeholder communication for new joiners.
  • Plan, execute and monitor flexi manpower requirements at EIMC — sourcing and onboarding apprentices, interns, NAPS trainees and contract labour, including interviews, offer/contract issuance, HCM system access, attendance and overtime monitoring, and contractor payments.
  • Ensure statutory compliance under applicable labour laws for the Talegaon facility, including periodic contractor compliance audits, renewal and amendment of business partner agreements, contractor RC renewals, and EGP data submissions.
  • Coordinate and drive Internal and External HR Audits for the Talegaon facility — preparing and maintaining audit-ready documentation and data, liaising with auditors, and ensuring timely closure of Non-Conformances (NCs) and observations with root-cause corrective actions.
  • Support shop floor discipline and industrial relations for unionized workmen — annual appraisals and letter distribution, workmen personal file management, and scholarship data preparation for workmen's children.
  • Own the Rewards & Recognition process — monitoring the R&R programme, procuring reward tools (vouchers, cards, certificates, badges), distributing rewards, and organizing long-service and retirement functions.
  • Administer the Company Car Policy, including new vehicle procurement (comparative quotations), insurance renewals, resale valuation and sale of vehicles, ownership/insurance transfers, and related tax and pollution compliance filings.
  • Maintain lease and license records and ensure timely statutory payments (property tax, water bills, society maintenance) for company properties across Halol, Baroda, Hinjewadi and Bhosari.
  • Manage business partner and vendor payments for the HR department — new vendor onboarding, invoice processing, monthly provisioning to Finance, and maintaining dimension/backcharge data for invoice support.
  • Handle full & final settlement and clearance processes for on-roll employees, interns, apprentices and contract staff, including preparation of clearance and service/experience certificates.
  • Administer employee benefits and HR letters — mediclaim additions/deletions, PF withdrawal/KYC/transfer/death cases, gratuity and superannuation claim settlements with LIC, Pluxee card processing, and issuance of address proof, bonafide, visa and leave sanction letters.
  • Manage probation, confirmation, retention proposals and salary revision cases, and coordinate annual policy renewals for Gratuity, Superannuation, EDLI, GMC, GTL, GPA and Parental insurance.
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • 10–15 years of HR generalist experience in a manufacturing or factory environment, with direct exposure to contract labour management, statutory compliance, and industrial relations.
  • Sound working knowledge of applicable labour laws (Contract Labour Act, Factories Act, PF, ESI, Gratuity, and related statutes) and experience coordinating statutory audits.
  • Hands‑on experience in manpower planning and execution — engaging apprentices, interns, NAPS trainees and contract labour, and managing recruitment drives.
  • Working knowledge of HCM/HRIS and attendance systems, along with strong MS Excel and reporting skills for tracking manpower, compliance, and vendor data.
  • Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills to work effectively with EHS, IT, Admin, Finance, and external business partners/vendors.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
  • Prior experience working with a unionized workforce, handling shop floor discipline and IR matters.
  • Exposure to Rewards & Recognition programmes and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Experience managing company assets such as vehicles and leased/licensed properties.
  • Familiarity with employee benefits administration — PF, gratuity, superannuation, and group insurance policies (GMC, GTL, GPA).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
