KCC Buildcon Group is seeking a Planning Engineering Professional to lead the Planning & Project Controls for a major Railway Infrastructure Project under East Central Railway (ECR). The role demands strong exposure to planning, scheduling, and coordination with client/consultant teams at a project-site-centric level.

The candidate will develop master schedules, track progress, analyse delays, and drive timely execution with multiple stakeholders including the Head Office, ensuring compliance

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Planning / Project Controls.
  • Experience in Railway Infrastructure / Government Railway Projects.
  • Experience handling Government Railway Clients, Consultants and multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule in line with contractual requirements.
  • Prepare Baseline Schedule, L1/L2/L3 schedules, look-ahead plans, monthly and weekly work programs.
  • Coordinate with site teams, engineering, procurement and other departments to achieve milestones.
  • Establish daily, weekly and monthly progress monitoring systems and reporting.
  • Prepare DPR, WPR, MPR and management dashboards and provide status updates to senior management.
  • Maintain professional coordination with client representatives and address planning-related observations.

Greetings from KCC Buildcon Group!

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineering Professional to lead the Planning & Project Controls function for a major Railway Infrastructure Project under East Central Railway (ECR).

The position will be responsible for developing and managing project planning, monitoring progress against approved schedules, identifying delays and constraints, preparing MIS and progress reports, coordinating with ECR and other stakeholders, and ensuring timely execution of project activities. The candidate should have strong exposure to Railway Projects, Planning & Scheduling, Client/Consultant Handling, Railway Codes & Standards, Project Controls, and Stakeholder Management. The role requires close coordination between the project site team, client/consultant, subcontractors, vendors, and the technical/engineering team at Head Office.

Key Responsibilities
A. Project Planning & Scheduling:
  • Develop and maintain the overall Master Project Schedule in line with contractual requirements and project milestones.
  • Prepare detailed Baseline Schedule, L1/L2/L3 schedules, look-ahead plans, monthly and weekly work programs.
  • Develop activity-wise planning for civil, railway infrastructure, structures, earthwork, track-related and associated works as applicable to the project.
  • Conduct Critical Path Analysis and identify activities requiring immediate corrective action.
  • Prepare recovery plans and revised schedules for delayed activities.
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement, commercial and other departments to ensure achievement of project milestones.
B. Progress Monitoring & Project Controls:
  • Establish effective systems for daily, weekly and monthly progress monitoring.
  • Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), Monthly Progress Reports (MPR) and management dashboards.
  • Track physical and contractual progress against approved schedules.
  • Provide regular project status updates to the Project Head and Senior Management.
C. ECR / Client / Consultant Coordination:
  • Act as a key planning interface with East Central Railway (ECR), Engineer/Consultant and other project stakeholders.
  • Participate in progress review meetings with the Client/Consultant and present project planning and progress data.
  • Maintain professional coordination with client representatives and address planning-related observations and requirements.
D. Railway Codes, Standards & Contract Requirements:
  • Plan as per Standard Railway Codes, specifications, manuals, procedures and contractual requirements relevant to railway infrastructure projects.
E. Delay Analysis & Claims Support:
  • Identify causes of delay and maintain a structured Delay Register / Hindrance Register.
  • Analyze delays, critical events and their impact on project milestones.
  • Coordinate with Commercial/Contracts teams for preparation of EOT, delay analysis and contractual submissions, wherever required.
  • Maintain adequate planning records and supporting documentation for contractual and commercial requirements.
F. Quality & Process Improvement:
  • Ensure planning activities and project reporting are accurate, timely and aligned with organizational quality standards.
  • Establish robust systems for documentation, progress measurement and schedule control.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project planning, monitoring and reporting processes.
Candidate Profile:
Educational Qualification
  • B. Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institute.
Experience
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Planning / Project Controls.
  • Significant experience in Railway Infrastructure / Railway Construction Projects is preferred.
  • Experience in handling Government Railway Clients, Consultants and multiple project stakeholders will be highly desirable.
Job Location & Mobility

Location: Sitamarhi, Bihar Project Base Location

The candidate should be willing to work from the project site and travel as required for client meetings, project reviews, coordination with stakeholders and Head Office.
