Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Clothing Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in fabric technology, textile testing, quality assurance, or a similar role in apparel/textile.
• Good understanding of fabric construction, dyeing/finishing, and garment manufacturing.
• Knowledge of textile compliance requirements and product safety standards is a plus.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and approval of new fabric qualities, ensuring all submissions meet technical specifications, performance standards, and critical path timelines.
• Review and approve bulk fabric submissions, ensuring compliance with quality, appearance, colour continuity, and performance requirements before bulk production.
• Conduct technical evaluations of fabric mills, laundries, and print plants, assessing manufacturing capability, compliance, environmental standards, and chemical management.
• Coordinate pre-production activities, including risk analysis, fabric tolerance reviews, and technical handover meetings with cross-functional teams.
• Confirm care label requirements and ensure compliance with product safety regulations, including REACH, restricted substances, and legal labelling requirements.
• Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Support the monitoring and control of banned and restricted substances through supplier engagement, testing, and training.
• Collaborate closely with merchandising teams, suppliers, garment technologists, quality assurance teams, and the UK technical team to resolve technical issues and deliver products that meet NEXT's quality standards.
