Job summary

Jindal Stainless (JSL) in India seeks a Diploma in Fire & Safety to lead EHS compliance at the site. You will implement safety programs, perform risk assessments, oversee PTW, and manage incident investigations to ensure adherence to applicable acts and rules.

Responsibilities include conducting audits, safety trainings, and developing AI-based safety content; coordinating emergency drills and LOTOV procedures; and monitoring crane, lifting, and critical lifting safety as well as documentation

Qualifications

• Diploma in Fire & Safety from a State Govt recognized institute.
• Must be fluent in Bengali, Hindi & English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Factories Act & West Bengal Factory Rules.
• Lead safety initiatives, implement EHS strategies and risk assessments (HIRA/JSA).
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations with CAPA implementation.
• Drive PTW, contractor safety, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Deliver EHS inductions, toolbox talks, and training on PPE, high-risk activities and safety protocols.
• Maintain and analyze safety data, reports, KPIs, and dashboards using SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, and AI tools.
• Coordinate fire safety, emergency response, rescue operations, and periodic mock drills.
• Implement LOTOV and isolation procedures for safe maintenance and shutdown activities.
• Review lifting plans and supervise critical lifts; ensure safe crane and lifting operations.
• Prepare rescue plans for high-risk jobs and maintain safety layouts and traffic plans.
• Develop AI-based safety awareness content to enhance engagement and learning.

• ADIS / PDIS / RLI from State Govt. recognized institute.
• Must be fluent in Bengali, Hindi & English.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Factories Act & West Bengal Factory Rules.
• Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, West Bengal Factory Rules, and all applicable statutory EHS regulations.
• Lead site safety initiatives, implement EHS strategies, and conduct risk assessments (HIRA/JSA).
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations with effective CAPA implementation.
• Drive Permit to Work (PTW), contractor safety, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Deliver EHS induction, toolbox talks, and training on PPE, Work at Height, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, LOTOV, Electrical Safety, Scaffolding, and Lifting Operations.
• Maintain and analyze safety data, reports, KPIs, and dashboards using SAP, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and AI tools.
• Monitor construction safety activities including excavation, scaffolding, electrical work, lifting operations, work at height, and ensure safe execution.
• Coordinate fire safety, emergency response, rescue operations, and conduct periodic mock drills.
• Conduct scaffolding inspections, ensure compliance with standards, and provide scaffolding safety training.
• Implement and monitor LOTOV (Lock Out, Tag Out & Verify) / Isolation procedures for safe maintenance and shutdown activities.
• Ensure compliance with crane, lifting, rigging, and critical lifting operations, including review of lifting plans and supervision of critical lifts.
• Prepare, review, and implement rescue plans for critical jobs such as confined space entry, work at height, heavy lifting, and emergency response.
• Prepare and review site layout drawings, traffic management plans, emergency evacuation plans, and safety layouts using engineering drawings.
• Develop AI-based safety awareness videos, digital training materials, and safety communication content to enhance employee engagement and learning.
• Ensure compliance with PPE standards, machine guarding, electrical safety, and safe work procedures across the site.
• Monitor contractor safety performance, conduct safety meetings, and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
• Promote Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), hazard reporting, near-miss reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare SOPs, SWPs, emergency procedures, safety manuals, and EHS documentation in line with company and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure effective implementation of EHS management systems.
• Support ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 implementation, internal/external audits, and compliance reviews.
• Perform any other EHS responsibilities assigned by the management to achieve organizational safety objectives.

Skills:
