Job summary

ITC LIMITED FOODS BUSINESSES DIVISION invites applications for the position of EHS Executive in its West Bengal manufacturing unit. You will ensure safe work practices, analyse risks, and maintain statutory compliance related to safety and pollution control.

Key duties include conducting training for contractors and employees, coordinating EHS audits, preparing reports, and implementing best practice safety measures from project inception through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering/Technology (BE/BTech) with 2+ years in supervisory/managerial role in Production, Maintenance or Safety.
• Or Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Industrial safety recognized by West Bengal state government.

Job Title : EHS Executive

Reports To : Factory Manager

Function : Environment, Health and Safety

Job Purpose

To ensure implementation of safe work practices and technology, analyse and mitigate risks with respect to health and safety, ensure statutory compliance related to safety and control pollution in the manufacturing unit.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Ensure through regular rounds/ proper liaising with workmen & staff for compliance of safe work practices.
2. Ensure that proper records as per the guidelines of Corporate Safety are maintained.
3. To plan training of all contractors and own employees for safety and ensure implementation.
4. To ensure that all incidents are captured and analyzed and actions are planned and taken to prevent recurrence.
5. To ensure that best safe work practices are identified and implemented.
6. To ensure formal reports/reviews of action plans of EHS audit and regular follow up on internal audits.
7. To ensure that regular EHS audits are carried out and also external audits are coordinated and organized.
8. Plan and ensure that EHS Committee Meetings are held regularly.
9. Ensure risk assessment / hazard spotting exercises are carried out on regular basis.
10. To make sure that safety features are in-built at the initial stage of new projects and inspect / recommend rectification of any unsafe guarding / inter-locking of new machines before they are commissioned on the floor.
11. Recommend and advise the Management the impacts of various environment pollution parameters and suggest ways & means of controlling the same.

Knowledge

1. Safe work practices and technology, such as, categories of guarding, etc. of machines.
2. In depth knowledge of statutory compliance in relation to occupational health, safety and environment, fire and life safety
3. Understanding of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards on EHS
4. Various acts of Laws, such as, Factories Act, Labor Laws, Employee Compensation Act, etc.

Experience and Educational qualifications :

(For West Bengal)

1. Candidate should possess a :

Degree in Engineering/Technology (BE/BTech) in any field with at least 2 years of experience in supervisory/managerial role in Production, Maintenance or Safety department

Or

Degree in Physics/Chemistry or Diploma in Engineering/Technology with at least 5 years of experience in supervisory/managerial role in Production, Maintenance or Safety department

1. Candidate should possess a Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Industrial safety (Recognised by West Bengal state government)
2. Candidate should possess thorough knowledge of Bengali acquired through an institution under a board of secondary education or affiliated to a university or recognized by West Bengal State Government
3. Candidate should be able to speak Hindi
4. Candidate should be 23 years of age or more
5. Candidate should have cleared Viva Voce test conducted by a board constituted by the Labour Department (West Bengal State Government) for the purpose
