Job summary

Kobelco Industrial Machinery India is seeking an experienced Assembly Supervisor to oversee the production of heavy machinery. You will supervise assembly using hand tools, power tools, cranes, hoists, and other handling equipment, ensuring drawings and procedures are followed and quality standards met.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, maintain accurate records, and participate in continuous improvement, while being willing to relocate to Kanchipuram and work in shifts as

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) required.
  • 3–7 years of experience in heavy machinery or industrial equipment assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, EOT cranes, WT cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection, assembly documentation, and NC (Non-Conformance) processes.
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and team coordination skills.
  • Basic computer skills to view drawings and update production reports.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, overtime, and a manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to relocate to Kanchipuram.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform the assembly of heavy machinery using hand tools, power tools, EOT cranes, WT cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and maintain assembly check sheets.
  • Identify defects or non-conformities, raise NCs, and coordinate with relevant departments for timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate assembly records, production logs, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and maintain a clean and organized workplace.
  • Coordinate with assemblers, technicians, engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve assembly quality, productivity, and efficiency.
