Job summary

Roots Group of Companies in Coimbatore is seeking an Assembly Operator. Freshers to 2 years of experience in production/assembly will fit the role. ITI, Diploma or any technical qualification, or even 10th/12th with technical background are acceptable.

You will perform assembly of mechanical components, use various tools, maintain quality, and support continuous improvement within the production team. This is an on-site, full-time position with safety and 5S practices emphasized.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of mechanical or manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of hand tools and basic assembly operations.
• Ability to follow work instructions and SOPs.
• Basic understanding of quality and safety practices.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in shifts, if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly operations as per standard work instructions and SOPs.
• Assemble mechanical components, parts, or sub-assemblies accurately.
• Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment safely.
• Check components for quality defects before and after assembly.
• Follow production targets and complete assigned work within the specified cycle time.
• Maintain cleanliness and discipline in the work area following 5S practices.
• Identify and report quality issues, defects, shortages, or equipment problems to the supervisor.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
• Support rework, inspection, packing, and material handling activities when required.
• Work effectively as part of the production team and follow instructions from the supervisor.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen and productivity improvement.
