IBM i (AS/400) RPG/RPGLE Developer

Industry & Sector: IT services and system integration focused on enterprise application development, legacy systems support, and modernization for Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, and Manufacturing clients. Seeking on-site engineering talent to maintain and evolve mission-critical IBM i (AS/400) applications that support high-volume transactions and batch processing.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RPG/RPGLE programs and CL jobs on IBM i (AS/400) for transactional and batch systems.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement stable fixes to minimise downtime.
• Optimize DB2 for i queries, file layouts, and program logic to improve throughput and reduce processing windows.
• Implement interfaces and integrations (service programs, stored procedures, APIs) for downstream systems and middleware.
• Participate in code reviews, release activities, and change‑control processes; produce clear technical documentation.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and operations; mentor junior developers to raise team capability.
