Job summary

VMC Soft Technologies, Inc in Chennai is seeking an IBM i/AS400 developer to design, develop, test and maintain applications on the IBM AS/400 platform. You will translate business requirements into technical solutions using RPG IV/RPGLE, CLLE, SQLRPGLE and DB2/400.

Responsibilities include writing embedded SQL, creating DB objects, performing unit and system testing, supporting UAT, troubleshooting production issues, and optimizing performance. This is a contract-to-hire role based in Chennai.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM AS400 (IBM i) platform.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions using RPG/COBOL and SQL.
• Develop and modify programs with RPG IV/RPGLE, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, and COBOL if applicable.
• Create and maintain database objects using DB2/400.
• Write and optimize embedded SQL for performance.
• Perform unit testing, system testing, and support UAT activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
