Desired: Degree/ Diploma / Certificate course in General Management / Operation Management.
Experience
7 to 10 Years
Essential
- Around 8+ years of experience in Raw Material Handling & Sorting activities in the Manufacturing sector related Aluminium.
- At least 4 years as In charge. Experience with Shredderand sensor-based sorter are added advantage.
Desired
- Experience in Erection and Commissioning of MechanicalEquipment is mandatory.
Deployment Plan
The selected candidate will initially be deployed at an existing CMR manufacturing facility to gain comprehensive exposure to CMR's raw material handling processes, sorting standards, quality requirements, safety practices, and operational culture.
Based on business requirements, the candidate may subsequently be assigned to support upcoming plant expansion projects, including equipment installation, commissioning, process stabilization, manpower readiness, and operational setup before transitioning into full-scale plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
During Project Phase
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead Raw Material Handling & Sorting-relatedactivities during plant setup, expansion, and modernization projects.
- Review layouts for scrap yards, sorting lines, shredders, conveyors, sensor-based sorting systems, and material movementinfrastructure.
- Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Procurement, andMaintenance teams to ensure timely execution of project milestones.
- Monitor installation progress and ensure compliance withproject timelines and technical specifications.
Equipment Installation & Commissioning
- Support erection, installation, and commissioning ofsorting equipment, shredders, conveyors, magnetic separators, and sensor-based sorting systems.
- Participate in equipment trials, performance validation, and operational readiness assessments.
- Ensure all equipment achieves designed throughput, quality, and safety standards before commercial operations.
SOP & Process Development
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), WorkInstructions, Inspection Checklists, and Process Monitoring Systems.
- Establish quality checkpoints and material segregationstandards.
- Support implementation of ERP and inventory managementprocesses for raw material tracking.
Team Readiness
- Support recruitment, training, and deployment of sortingand material handling teams.
- Conduct skill development programs focused on safety, quality, productivity, and equipment operations.
- Build operational capability before commercialproduction commencement.
During Plant Operations
Raw Material Handling & Sorting Operations
- Lead and manage day-to-day raw material handling andsorting activities to ensure uninterrupted production support.
- Ensure proper segregation, classification, andprocessing of incoming scrap and raw materials.
- Monitor productivity, sorting accuracy, materialrecovery, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure achievement of planned sorting volumes andproduction targets.
Production Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate manpower and equipment availability based onproduction requirements.
- Plan and manage material flow to support downstreamproduction processes without interruption.
- Optimize yard management and inventory movementactivities.
Quality Management
- Ensure proper identification, segregation, and quality compliance of raw materials.
- Minimize contamination and improve sorting efficiencythrough robust process controls.
- Collaborate with Quality teams to ensure adherence tocustomer and process requirements.
Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure strict compliance with EHS standards, statutoryregulations, and company safety policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture through regular audits, risk assessments, and employee awareness programs.
- Ensure safe operation of material handling equipment andmachinery.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, operators, andsorting personnel.
- Define performance objectives and drive accountabilityacross the team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives to improve material recovery, reducelosses, and enhance productivity.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements andautomation.
- Monitor operational costs and implement measures tooptimize manpower, equipment utilization, and resource consumption.
Equipment Reliability
- Coordinate with Maintenance teams for preventive andpredictive maintenance of shredders, sorters, conveyors, and related equipment.
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis forequipment failures.
Reporting & Governance
- Prepare and present reports on productivity, sortingefficiency, recovery rates, quality performance, safety metrics, andoperational KPIs.
- Provide recommendations for process improvement, capacity enhancement, and operational excellence initiatives.
