Job summary

TransUnion seeks an Architect, Development Ops to lead hands-on pipeline design and Kubernetes-based solutions. You will work with engineers and other architects to ensure scalable, secure delivery pipelines and strong developer enablement.

Responsibilities include shaping CI/CD platforms, mentoring teams, and driving automation improvements. Hybrid role with a mix of in-person and virtual work; the ideal candidate has extensive DevOps/SRE background and proven leadership in pipeline

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, or related tech fields.
• Experience as Architect/Technical Lead/Lead Engineer or similar architecture-focused role.
• Strong skills in pipeline design, automation, and developer enablement.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable pipeline solutions.
• Define pipeline architecture and provide technical leadership.
• Design, deploy, and support Kubernetes-based solutions using Helm.
• Provide architectural guidance and oversight for CI/CD platforms.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

• The Architect serves as a hands-on technical leader, working closely with engineers and fellow architects to design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
• This role defines pipeline architecture, establishes technical standards, and guides adoption of CI/CD and developer enablement capabilities.
• It partners with Development, Release Management, and Site Reliability Engineering to deliver solutions that improve software delivery, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable pipeline solutions
• Define pipeline architecture and provide technical leadership
• Design, deploy, and support Kubernetes-based solutions using Helm
• Provide architectural guidance and technical oversight for CI/CD platforms
• Drive improvements in pipeline architecture, automation, and developer experience
• Establish and promote best practices for source control, branching strategies, artifact management, pipeline design, and automation
• Optimize artifact management and software supply chain processes
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams and technical documentation
• Provide technical mentorship and architectural leadership through design reviews, implementation guidance, and knowledge sharing
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across CI/CD pipelines, automation processes, and supporting technologies
• Participate in Agile and SAFe ceremonies, including sprint planning, story refinement, architecture reviews, and PI Planning

TransUnion Job Title Architect, Development Ops

Required Knowledge And Experiences

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience serving as an Architect, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or in a similar architecture-focused role
• Strong experience designing and implementing pipelines, automation solutions, and developer enablement capabilities
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as Harness, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
• Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and Helm
• Strong understanding of Git-based source control, branching strategies, and repository management
• Experience with artifact management solutions, preferably Artifactory
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or Ansible
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Strong technical leadership, collaboration, and mentorship skills, with the ability to influence technical direction through expertise and partnership
