Role & responsibilities
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Licensed Architect to manage building projects from initial concept through completion. You will collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, design comprehensive structural blueprints, and work alongside engineering and construction teams to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Client Consultation & Conceptual Design: Meet with clients to define project parameters, budgets, and aesthetic preferences; translate these parameters into preliminary design proposals and layouts.
- Blueprint Creation & Modeling: Develop detailed 2D technical drawings, 3D renderings, and specifications using CAD and BIM software like AutoCAD and Revit.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all architectural designs strictly comply with local zoning laws, national building codes, accessibility standards (e.g., ADA), and safety regulations.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate and integrate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering elements into a unified master blueprint.
- Project & Budget Management: Estimate material and construction costs, outline implementation timelines, and help compile contract or permit paperwork.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular visits to construction worksites to monitor design fidelity, review ongoing work quality, and resolve unexpected structural anomalies on the ground.
Required Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active professional license or registration to practice architecture locally (e.g., AIA, RIBA, Council of Architecture, depending on region).
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in design software, specifically AutoCAD, Revit, or Vectorworks. Familiarity with 3D visualization tools (SketchUp, Photoshop) is highly preferred.
- Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of construction technology, materials, drafting standards, and zoning laws.
Core Skills
- Creative Problem Solving: Ability to blend unique artistic design with heavy structural and mathematical realities.
- Strong Communication: Clear verbal and written skills necessary to direct construction teams and present concepts to clients.
- Project Leadership: Sharp organizational capabilities to oversee multi-tiered stakeholders and enforce timelines.
