Job Summary
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Architect with 3–4 years of experience, preferably in hospital and healthcare projects, to join our architectural/design team. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the planning, design, documentation, coordination, and execution of healthcare facilities while ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare standards, building codes, and project requirements.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of hospital planning, functional relationships, patient and staff circulation, healthcare space requirements, architectural detailing, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop architectural concepts, layouts, plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings for hospital and healthcare projects.
- Prepare departmental layouts and space planning for areas such as OPD, IPD, ICU, OT, emergency, diagnostics, radiology, laboratories, pharmacy, CSSD, and other hospital departments.
- Understand and incorporate patient flow, staff flow, material flow, sterile/non-sterile circulation, and public circulation into hospital planning.
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings and construction documentation.
- Coordinate architectural designs with structural, MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, medical gas, and other services.
- Review and coordinate drawings from consultants and identify design/coordination conflicts.
- Assist in preparing BOQs, material specifications, schedules, and tender documentation.
- Conduct site visits and coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and project teams.
- Review architectural works at site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and design intent.
- Assist in resolving technical and architectural issues during construction.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building regulations, fire safety requirements, accessibility standards, healthcare guidelines, and local authority requirements.
- Participate in client meetings, design presentations, coordination meetings, and project reviews.
- Assist senior architects/project managers in developing project schedules and monitoring design deliverables.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control of drawings and project information.
- Research healthcare design standards, materials, technologies, and best practices to support project development.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of hospital and healthcare architectural planning.
- Understanding of healthcare functional requirements and departmental adjacencies.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Revit/BIM is preferred.
- Knowledge of SketchUp, Photoshop, Lumion/Enscape or other visualization software is an advantage.
- Good understanding of architectural detailing and construction techniques.
- Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of building codes, fire safety, accessibility, and relevant healthcare regulations.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture (B.Arch.) from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the relevant architectural authority is preferred/required depending on the project and jurisdiction.
Experience Level
3–4 years total architectural experience, with preferably 2+ years of experience in hospital/healthcare projects.
Candidates with strong healthcare project experience and knowledge of hospital planning will be given preference.
