S&P Global invites fresh graduates for a 12-month apprenticeship in the Metals & Mining Industry Content team in India. You will engage in data collection, maintenance and reporting using internal tools, focusing on geological data and publicly available sources.
The program provides on-the-job training with potential rotational shifts, and opportunities to grow through Learning Xchange. A Geology degree (B.Sc./MSc) and strong communication and computing skills are preferred.

The Team: Metals & Mining Industry Content collects data for global mining industry right from early stage exploration projects to mines and processing facilities. Additionally, data is being collected for drill intersections at covered mine properties, plus mining and exploration claims/leases spatial data is compiled for dozens of countries. We are having a Global Coverage of over 60 commodities, 40,000+ properties /projects. We have offices in different locations, India, Manila, Islamabad, Halifax who work towards common goal for publishing data in a timely, accurate & comprehensive manner which helps clients to take business decision with conviction.
Our department provides quality, timely and comprehensive data, and our Data Analyst perform the key tasks in data collection, maintenance, and processing. We cater to the needs of both internal and external clients, who use our data in making sound and efficient business analysis and decisions, and in evaluating the global mining sector and metals market with essential intelligence. The analyst would be utilizing our own work tools. They would be responsible in the daily maintenance of the data sets.

S&P Global is looking to hire young fresh graduates and postgraduates, specifically 2025 and 2026 pass-outs, for a 12-month apprenticeship program.
Responsibilities: Performs straightforward, stand‑alone tasks or transactions within detailed instructions and predefined procedures. Responsible for entering and editing data in work tools as per specified guidelines and checklists. Captures comprehensive information on the data tracked by the Metals & Mining Industry Content Department. Creates reports of work performed during the day via reporting tools. This process will also involve extracting and validating data errors. Reviews feedback involving their content to help correct errors and establish or refine procedures and processes to improve accuracy. Deliver on predefined individual and team targets including delivering outcomes with quality and excellence. Works within own team; may interact with other related teams. Works with supervisor and team members to understand processes and procedure. Works with other related teams to complete tasks assigned to them. Will work within parameters and with supervision to ensure quality and performance to set standards. Keeps up‑to‑date in knowledge of content sets. Builds Mining industry knowledge and reporting standard. Increase learning by accomplishing Learning Xchange & other learning modules for policy compliance. Fosters innovation by identifying enhancement initiatives that support our LEAN and Automation philosophy. Contributes to the achievement of personal and team objective.
Basic Qualifications: Fresh graduates/post graduates with a Geology background (B.Sc. / MSc in Geology/Geoinfomatics) with passing year 2025 or 2026. Primary working shift will be regular day shift but candidate should be willing to work in rotational shifts basis business requirement.
Effective communication skill (written & Verbal) and sound computer skills are the prerequisites for the positions. Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment, while following flexible schedule to meet deadlines. Comfortable in taking initiative and demonstrating resourcefulness. Strong attention to detail and persistent approach to work. Strong quantitative, analytical and interpretive skills. Good competitive attitude towards work.
