Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Bangalore is seeking an Applications Support Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to ensure stability, security, and performance of our application server environments.

You will manage Windows and Linux servers, IIS, Tomcat, WebLogic, and scripting with PowerShell, following ITIL practices and security controls. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is essential to success.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in application server environments.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand our Application Server Principal Guidelines.
• Familiarize with foundational standards, best practices, and expectations.
• LCM OS & ALM (Lifecycle & Application Lifecycle Management).
• Operating system lifecycle management.
• Application lifecycle management, patching, updates, and version control.
• Security management and policy implementation.
• Certificate management, system hardening, vulnerability follow-up.
• Collaboration with internal and external integration partners.
• Technical coordination across multi-stakeholder environments.
• Business Support Incident and Level 3 support for business applications.
• Incident analysis, communication, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Participation in ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
• Disaster Recovery Plan activities exercises yearly for critical packages.
• Adherence to AG processes and internal compliance frameworks.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline processes.

About the Role: We are looking for an Application Server Engineer to strengthen our Application Services team. In this role, you will ensure the stability, security, and performance of our application server environments.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Experience with Windows server and Linux server (nice to have)

• Basic networking knowledge (basic function from the server level)
