Job summary

Mettler-Toledo International, Inc. seeks a Biotechnologist / Cell Culture Scientist to lead cell-culture projects within the CytoDirect life-science portfolio. You will own experimental work, provide technical support to global teams, and contribute to the development of new applications and educational content.

The role requires Ph.D. or postdoctoral experience in biotechnology/life sciences, strong cell culture expertise, and proficiency with tools like Origin, GraphPad, and Minitab.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or postdoctoral experience in Biotechnology/Life Sciences.
• Strong technical and scientific expertise in Cell Culture and Cell Biology.
• Additional expertise in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Proteomics and Genomics is advantageous.
• Proficient in various cell culture techniques with excellent analytical abilities.
• Familiarity with Origin, GraphPad, Minitab and DOE is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in cell culture for CytoDirect and provide technical support to global MOs.
• Develop novel applications and content (whitepapers, webinars, publications) for CytoDirect and other life science products.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical and application support and knowledge sharing with MOs as subject matter expert (eDemos, virtual GTC).
• Train sales force and develop remote training offerings (eTrainings, virtual and self-learning activities).
• Engage with the CytoDirect product development team as SME on testing, feedback and specification improvements.

Job Description: We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and innovative Biotechnologist / Cell Culture Scientists to join our Life-Science team. In this position, you will be responsible as the SME in cell-culture for CytoDirect business. This role will be a working level scientist role where you will have direct project ownership in addition to experimental responsibilities. We are looking for a colleague who is a self-starter, responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

In this role your responsibilities will be:

• To ensure competent and rapid technical and application support to colleagues in global MOs for CytoDirect via email and online interactions.
• To develop novel applications (and related content like whitepapers, webinars, publications., etc.) for CytoDirect and other life science products in MT portfolio.
• Responsible for pre- and post- sales technical and application support and knowledge sharing with the MOs as subject matter expert with technical consultative approach (eDemos, virtual GTC, etc.).
• Training of sales force and development of remote training offerings (eTrainings, virtual and self learning activities, etc.).
• Engage with the product development team of CytoDirect as subject matter expert on product testing, application feedback, strengthening the specification, etc.

What You Need to Succeed

• Ph.D. or Postdoctoral experience in Biotechnology/ Life Sciences with a comprehensive understanding of laboratory techniques.
• Strong technical and scientific expertise in Cell Culture and Cell Biology.
• Additional expertise in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Proteomics, and Genomics is advantageous.
• Proficient in various cell culture techniques combined with excellent analytical abilities.
• Familiarity with software tools such as Origin, GraphPad, Minitab, and Design of Experiments (DOE) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Exceptional scientific communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to conduct fundamental research independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Creative thinker with strong decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
• Competent in independently researching and troubleshooting, ensuring accuracy in collaboration with subject matter experts.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to integrate well within diverse industry teams. Experience working in a matrix organization is highly desirable.
• Willingness to work at 3rd party facility for certain experimental work as needed. Non-experimental work related travel: occasional (< 10%).
