Job summary

Roquette is seeking a senior Application Scientist to develop dairy and beverage formulations, demonstrate functional value of solutions, and support regional/global innovation projects. You will lead trials, document results, and train customers and sales teams on product capabilities.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in a dairy/plant protein or stabilizer role, with hands-on equipment experience and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years in dairy/plant protein or stabilizers sector.
• Strong knowledge of formulation science for dairy and beverage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute application development projects in Dairy and Beverage segments.
• Develop customer-focused solutions with scientific evidence.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to provide technical support for opportunities.
• Design and deliver technical training programs for customers and internal teams.
• Maintain trial records and SOPs for equipment and processes.
• Participate in customer trials and deliver technical seminars at large group settings.
• Drive safety and environmental compliance in the workplace.

Position Purpose

Develop application solutions and innovative formula in the Dairy / Beverage / Specialized Nutrition. Support customer request (ASR) via bench test, scale up trials and customer visits. Support regional and global innovation projects.

Your Experience And Talents Will Make The Difference To

• Lead and execute application development projects within the Dairy and Beverage segments to demonstrate and validate the functional value of our solutions—including current products, range extensions, and new product development (NPD).
• Develop customer‑focused application solutions supported by scientific evidence, ensuring a clear structure–function understanding and alignment with performance needs.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure the appropriate level of technical support based on business opportunities and strategic priorities
• Design and deliver technical training programs for customers and internal go‑to‑market teams, enhancing understanding of product functionality and application performance.
• Due diligence in keeping trial records with proper documentation to facilitate innovation and protect the value trough patenting of our solutions
• Participate in customers trials, with a high degree of technical challenge.
• Deliver technical seminars on product and solutions at customer’s and large group settings.
• Manage operation and development of SOP of machine and equipment related to segment.
• Contribute to a safe and environmentally friendly workplace and comply with Roquette’s safety policies and SOP.

What We Will Love About You

• Self-starter with good knowledge of formulation science for dairy and beverage
• Keen interest to develop skills new application areas not currently familiar.
• Experience in handling processing equipment eg., Homogenizers, ice-cream mixers, Stephan mixers and other process equipment.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with specialty ingredients – Modified starch, proteins and sugar substitutes is desired.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Effective team player, independent and resourceful.

• Minimum 8 years in similar role in a dairy, plant protein or stabilizer, modified starch, food and flavour ingredient company.
