Position - Application Engineering Manager

Time - 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM

Working - Monday to Friday

ummary: This position is responsible for all review of customer technical specifications, cost estimates, pricing and quotation activity. This person manages the overall application process for VTC products: including accurate analysis of customer/s technical requirements according to industry standards and VTC manufacturing capabilities, determination of feasibility within given time and economic factors.

Essential Functions

• Schedule and direct the daily activities of the Application Engineering department to ensure timely, accurate and error-free costs estimates and quotations are provided.
• Develop and implement effective plans to minimize errors and inefficiencies and to improve the overall performance of the department.
• Ability to think strategically and execute on company’s objectives, able to motivate and lead others.
• Effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Actively participate in the selection and development of the Application Engineering team. Provide timely and objective feedback to employees to encourage good work performance and improve marginal work performance.
• Ensure that all Application Engineering personnel received sufficient training to perform their jobs in a safe, efficient and quality manner. This may include conducting periodic departmental meetings or other tools to promote adequate two-way communications.
• Keep abreast of technological changes and developments within the industry through review of engineering and technical publications, participation in professional and technical organizations and maintaining an appropriate industry technical network.
• Analyze product specifications and performance requirements to determine feasibility and parameters as required.
• Maintain a close working relationship with Engineering, Development and Materials functions to ensure the Applications Engineering team is providing customers the most up to date and accurate information when developing costs and quotations.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with power concentration.
• Minimum ten (10) years related experience in transformer or power generation industry, including minimum five (5) years related supervisory experience.
• Proficient organizational and oral/written communications skills
• Demonstrates Successful managerial/supervisory experience.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering with power concentration.
• PE Certification/PMP Certification
• Thorough knowledge of transformer and related equipment manufacturing and design
