Job summary

Beckhoff Automation - INDIA in Coimbatore is seeking an application engineer to support Beckhoff products and projects, develop machine programs, and provide training to customers.

The ideal candidate holds a BE/BTech in E&TC or related fields, with 2–7 years' experience, strong IEC 61131-3 knowledge, PLCs, motion control, robotics, EtherCAT and HMI, plus excellent English communication. The role is on-site with growth in a global tech environment.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in E&TC, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or E&E.
• 2–7 years of work experience.
• Experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
• Strong English communication, written and oral.
• Knowledge of PLCs, motion controllers, robotics, distributed I/O, EtherCAT, and HMI.

Job description

Beckhoff implements open automation systems using proven PC-based control technology. The main areas that the product range covers are industrial PCs, I/O and fieldbus components, drive technology, automation software, control cabinet-free automation, and hardware for machine vision.

We are a representative office in Coimbatore, India, and we are actively expanding our team and looking for a suitable application engineer.

Responsibilities

• develop machine programs according to customer specifications
• offering standard and custom training to support Beckhoff products and projects
• documentation and recording of all project activities
• maintain a high degree of relevant technical knowledge to fulfil the listed job responsibilities
• advise customers on proper technology selection, use, maintenance, and training for specific applications

Qualifications

• bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology (E&TC, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, E&E)
• 2 to 7 years of work experience
• experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages, including (object-oriented extensions)
• understanding of PLCs, motion controllers, robotics, distributed I/O, fieldbus systems (EtherCAT) and HMI technologies.
• previous technical training and / or Beckhoff Automation experience
• visual Studio and/or object-oriented programming (OOP) in automation
• strong analytical and reasoning skills to collaborate in a fast-paced, action-oriented team
• excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present to customers, companywide, and/or departmental meetings in English
