Job summary

Accor in Chennai, Tamil Nadu is seeking an experienced HR professional to lead People & Culture functions. You will review policies, monitor labor trends, and advise management on performance appraisals and disciplinary actions. The role involves recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and staff development to support hospitality excellence.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years in HR, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, and a strong grasp of Accor values and hospitality practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of HR experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or Assistant Manager role.
  • Experience in recruitment, onboarding, engagement, performance management, learning & development, and employee welfare activities.
  • Strong understanding of Accor values, culture, and hospitality people practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update People & Culture policies and procedures and other human resources materials
  • Monitor present and future trends in the local labor situation, social legislation and make recommendations to the management
  • Monitor the administration of the Performance Appraisal Program and act in an advisory capacity to department heads in such process
  • Ensure that all employees comply with the hotel policies and procedures as well as government regulations pertaining to employment practice
  • Prepare and submit periodic People & Culture reports to management
  • Counsel hotel personnel as and when needed in areas such as career planning, training and development and employee relations
  • Investigate and review all disciplinary actions to ensure the actions are complying with the labor law, hotel rules and regulations. Discuss with department heads an appropriate action and recommend the final results in consultation with the General Manager
  • Oversee the organization and execution of employees’ social, athletic and recreational activities
  • Maintain good working relations with all departments and all professional external contact
  • Develop and implement recruitment procedures and strategies to attract the most qualified candidates for position vacancies in the hotel
  • Analyze the hotel manpower requirements
  • Coordinate with the hiring managers on the recruitment of qualified personnel based on approval by the divisional head and General Manager, following established standards, policies and procedures
  • Interview, select and recruit direct reports
  • Identify and develop team members with potential
  • Conduct performance review and manages performance issues that arise within the team
  • Develop, conduct maintain all staff training programs for team members, focusing on their development needs, providing them with new skills to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
  • Be aware of the hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the assigned by the Hotel
