Job summary

Legrand in Haryana seeks an experienced Electrical Panel Manufacturing Lead to manage customized production orders, achieve targets, and ensure on-time delivery with quality.

You will allocate tasks, coordinate with stores and purchase, mentor operators, implement Lean, QMS and safety practices, and drive continuous improvement across the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 6-15 years of experience in electrical panel manufacturing, preferably customized production.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM) is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze production plans to achieve targets and quality standards.
  • Allocate tasks to operators and balance load based on machine availability.
  • Coordinate with Stores and Purchase to ensure timely material availability.
  • Ensure components manufactured per master drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain daily production records in physical and digital formats.
  • Train and mentor operators, trainees, and apprentices.
  • Implement Safety, QMS, EMS and Legrand Way tools on shop floor.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives like Poka-Yoke and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Monitor rejection levels and implement corrective actions to reduce costs.
  • Promote safety culture and zero-accident mindset.
  • Prepare production-related records, reports and MIS data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues.

Job description

Key Purpose of the Role

The primary objective of this role is to manage and execute customized production orders, achieve production targets, and ensure delivery of the required order quantities with the desired quality standards within the committed timelines.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze production plans to achieve production targets within the specified timelines while maintaining the required quality standards.
  • Allocate tasks to operators and ensure effective load balancing based on machine availability and production priorities.
  • Coordinate with the Stores and Purchase departments to ensure timely availability of raw materials and consumables required for production.
  • Ensure component manufacturing is carried out according to approved master drawings and technical specifications.
  • Maintain and update daily production records in both physical and digital formats.
  • Train and mentor operators, trainees, and apprentices to enhance their technical skills and enable independent working.
  • Implement and sustain Safety, QMS, EMS, and Legrand Way tools on the shop floor, including Hourly Follow-up, Field Tours, DPM, Daily Efficiency Reports, and other operational excellence initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities such as Poka-Yoke, Lean Manufacturing initiatives, SGIA, and other productivity improvement programs.
  • Monitor rejection levels and maintain them within CNQ targets while implementing corrective actions to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety standards and motivating employees to achieve a zero-accident workplace.
  • Prepare and maintain production-related records, reports, and MIS data on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and ensure smooth operations.
Functional Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of customized panel production, including DBs, Feeder Pillars, and Lighting Panels.
  • Ability to read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and engineering drawings.
  • Sound technical knowledge of electrical panel products and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong process orientation with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Effective people management and team leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making abilities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 6-15 years of experience in the electrical panel manufacturing industry, preferably in customized production.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM) will be an added advantage.
