JobItUs in Vadodara is seeking a Panel Specialist to design electrical panels, SLDs, GA drawings and 2D/3D layouts for industrial control panels at the Waghodia GIDC plant.
You will ensure safe, compliant designs, optimize busbar sizing, wire routing and cooling, and coordinate with fabrication teams on sheet metal fabrication, BOMs and on-site troubleshooting. 3–5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
1. Panel Layout & Schematic Design
Design Single Line Diagrams (SLD), electrical schematics, and wiring
diagrams.
Create General Arrangement (GA) drawings and 2D/3D layouts for
industrial control panels.
Optimize structural layouts for internal wiring, cable routing, busbar sizing,
and cooling systems.
Draft detailed component fitment plans for PLC units, MCBs, contactors, and
switches.
2. Fabrication Support & Enclosure Design
Develop sheet metal cutout patterns and technical specifications for
fabrication teams.
Coordinate design variables directly with the on-site welding and assembly
supervisors.
Establish precise Bills of Materials (BOM) for internal engineering
components, connectors, and cable lugs.
3. Standard Compliance & Testing
Ensure all designs meet statutory safety and manufacturing quality standards.
Deliver comprehensive site-support engineering briefs and resolve technical
issues during fabrication assembly.
Software Tools: Advanced drafting skills in AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks
(Sheet Metal), or EPlan.
Core Engineering: Deep understanding of industrial power systems,
switchgears, and power distribution systems.
Drafting Layouts: Strong grasp of component placement, clearance
requirements, and geometric routing logic.
We are looking for a techno-commercial, execution-focused candidate who
understands both electrical logic and the realities of factory-floor sheet metal
fabrication.
The ideal profile balances precise drafting skills with the practical ability to walk onto
the shop floor and troubleshoot a physical assembly issue.
The Panel Specialist: Someone who does not just draw lines in AutoCAD,
but understands how current flows, how heat dissipates inside an enclosure,
and how to size a busbar safely.
Fabrication-Minded: A candidate who understands sheet metal limits,
bending allowances, and how component placement affects practical wiring
and maintenance.
Component Savvy: Well-versed with major switchgear and automation
brands (like Siemens, Schneider, ABB, or L&T) and can select the right
ratings for breakers, contactors, and relays.
Shop-Floor Collaborator: Since the role is at the Waghodia GIDC plant, they
must be comfortable working closely with assembly technicians, operators,
and testing supervisors.
Under-Pressure Problem Solver: Panel manufacturing often involves tight
delivery deadlines; the candidate needs to be quick at rectifying drawing
errors to avoid production halts.
Detail-Obsessed: A single misplaced dimensions or incorrect BOM entry can
ruin an entire sheet metal lot. We need a candidate with high accuracy.
Target Experience: 3 to 5 years. (Keen learners who have completed a solid
entry-level stint in a panel manufacturing company).
Ideal Companies to Source From: Candidates working with local Vadodara-
based transformer, switchgear, control panel, or automation automation
MSMEs.
Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Power
Electronics.
