A leading insurance brokerage firm in Chennai is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to oversee procurement and negotiation in property, marine, liability, and engineering insurance. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of underwriting experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to advise clients effectively. Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of property, marine, liability, and engineering insurance products.
• Proven negotiation and client advisory skills.

Responsabilités

• Procure competitive terms from insurers.
• Negotiate coverage and terms with insurers.
• Provide expert advice to clients for insurer selection.
• Maintain TATs for policy issuance and endorsements.
• Assist the claims team with data and documentation.
• Apply detailed knowledge of Property, Marine, Liability, and Engineering products to guide clients with accurate information and coverage options.
• Monitor policy renewal on a monthly basis and quote renewal business after studying portfolio performance.
• Vet policy copies, endorsements, and other documents before sending them to clients.
• Review policy terms & conditions and secure appropriate endorsements for deviations not captured in the policy.
• Maintain claims process TAT, including timely reporting to insurers, surveying, and facilitating clients to prepare and submit necessary documents.
