Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced AIX and LPAR administrator to support IBM AIX environments. The role focuses on maintaining AIX LVM, HACMP clusters, and managing LPAR/DLPAR operations with a strong emphasis on performance monitoring and quick issue resolution.

You will monitor system metrics with vmstat, iostat, sar, topas, netstat and nmon, analyze reports to identify bottlenecks, and adhere to SLA obligations while handling incidents and change management requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AIX LVM and HACMP cluster administration.
• Experience with monitoring and analyzing performance reports.
• Familiarity with NMON and analyzing its reports.
• Experience with SLA adherence and incident/change management.

Responsibilities

• Handle incidents and changes per ITIL-like processes.
• Monitor, analyze and report performance using vmstat, iostat, sar, topas, netstat and nmon.
• Configure and manage AIX LVM, HACMP, LPAR and DLPAR operations.

Job description

• Should have Good Knowledge on AIX Logical Volume Manger, HACMP Cluster Administration Basics, Configuring and managing VIO Servers, LPAR and DLPAR operations
• Performance monitoring using vmstat, iostat, sar, topas, netstat and nmon and analyzing these reports to figure out any performance issues
• Should have Experience in ML, TL update and APAR, fix installation, and patch update on AIX and devices on requirements basis and on customer specifications
• Should have knowledge to generate the NMON and skills to analyze the reports
• Should adhere to the SLA and Work on Incident and Change Management
